Good player for sure, however i would rather we kept Davies [ who is only a year older] .

Davies has struggled for two years to stay with the pace of the game though. He's not a modern day full back and he's not really a patch on any of our centre halves, bar Dragusin. He's been a great servant but there's a reason he's not being offered a new contract....

He will end up at Wrexham, mark my words.

You may be right but Robertson has been poor according to some Pool supporters over the last couple of seasons.

I guess time will tell. I'd hazard that the title winning team of last season's level was a bit higher than ours, so hopefully a diminished Robertson is a step up on a diminished Davies.

As you say time will tell. The main point is that i do not think we really have to bring in another LB when we have bigger needs.

Yes but consider this.

Vicario out, Kinsky promoted, young keeper brought in. Net wage saving.

Dragusin sold, Vuskovic promoted. Net wage saving.

Davies released, Robertson signed, slight increase in wages.

Bissouma released, wages saved

Richi sold, wages saved.

If all that happens, we have brought in the Scottish captain, the best young centre half in Europe and saved a ton of wages. We can then divert those wages into some statement signings, be those free (Stones, Senisi, Vlahovic, etc) or with a fee (Savinho, etc).

Davies is part of the tapestry of the forthcoming Summer.....
