Some of the brick that's happening now just defies belief. Obama had his faults and wasn't exactly a saint, but to go from him to this in four years is simply incredible.

You also have to factor in the, what's the term in English, confidence interval? I. e. how well does the group in the poll reflect the average population. Normally you go with about 95% there.
With a state population of say 10mill. voters, and the poll has asked 1000 people, you end up with about 3% margin of error.

Using it as set dressing for a false claim of victory would be pretty dangerous. It was bad enough using it for campaign events.
