American politics

The worst thing about a Trump 2nd term is that RBG is virtually a carcass already.

If they get another partisan SC nomination then it won't matter who which Democrat gets elected for the next 20 years.
I was thinking mostly from a climate and geopolitical perspective, but yes the supreme court also factors into these environmental decisions too. Rolling back regulations, etc. The ham-fisted nature of Trump's efforts to roll back all of Obama's environmental regulations has meant lots of the attempts have been blocked or thrown out by the courts, but they'll get a doover in a 2nd term. It doesn't bear thinking about.

FWIW... Biden is currently 7 points ahead of Trump in polls compared to the 6 point lead Clinton had on this day 4 years ago... hopefully Biden doesn’t let it slip too!

Trump has a certain number of people that will vote for him no matter what. The Democratic candidate's job as always is to get as many as possible of the remaining 75% of the population to actually vote.

A 9 point lead in the aggregated polls but it's all about the battleground states. Florida is the key (no pun intended) as usual. If it declares for Biden that's probably it for Trump though Biden can win without it if other states go his way. Same with Texas which is only a few points in the red.

I’m not sure I can take another four years of the sexist orange racist c.unt. Seeing him defeated would give me a smidgeon of hope that we’ll eventually some semblance of normality return in the UK.

The Virginia Senate voted on Wednesday to pass a bill that would reduce the penalty for assaulting law enforcement officers from a felony to a misdemeanor, as long as the officer is not injured. Senate Bill 5032, if enacted, would also remove the mandatory six-month jail sentence for assaulting police officers.

This is the sort of thing which polarises the US electorate. The Virginia senate voted strictly on party lines for this.

Is there a head to head round of debates this time or they cancelled due to Covid? That for me will be key, how will Biden handle the lies and discreditting that Trumps throws at him. Clinton melted slightly.

I also agree the current riots will help Trump, there is this silent racist faction sat at home who will hit the polls hard.

Also there is the Who admits voting Trump factor....thats worth points in the polls

Madness in todays world to do that.

That seems pretty stupid on the face of it. What are the reasons for doing so.

Absolutely true IMO.
I firmly believe there are professional agitation groups involved in this. It is too clockwork a series of incidents now. Portland kicking off again along very specific racism lines. I think it is all fodder for his filth train, and I believe it is the product of subversive, pre-planned behavior and tactics.
Yep, this is the play. Incite violence and use it as a pretence to initiate crackdowns on protests. He's trying to scare the wavering voters into supporting him. He's positioning himself as the strong man who can quell the so-called riots. The irony is that everything he's railing against he has actually caused. Authoritarian 101.

I wouldn't be surprised to see martial law imposed around election time in a further effort to suppress the vote.

So the Orange Smear of brick agitates for violence on the streets, campaigns to end said violence, brings in the feds, takes credit for stopping something he created and then gets reelected. There is a perfect symmetry to all of this. Yet some cannot see it.
