American politics

That wouldn't surprise me if he's still heavily in property.

Yep but he mainly speculates with other people's money. He needs people to think that he's a success to carry on drawing people in and obviously, he is a narcissist, so admitting that he is not as successful as he tries to portray would be very difficult for him.

Have you seen the rumours that the Presidency run is a front for a move into the media. I know that his campaign is being run by people connected to Breitbart, it seems plausible.

Yeah, but calls for locking her up, talk about right wing over reach. I think Trump represents a massive threat to world stability, but I'm not going to call for his fascist arse to be locked away.

We have the Official Secrets act here, I am pretty sure the Yanks will have their own version, her email saga would most certainly been classified under it.
Here you are bound by the act as it is law, breaking the law should usually result in jail time.

I think that this kind of thing is probably quite widespread. Colin Powell did the same thing. Not handling the same level of information obviously but Michael Gove and his advisers were caught using webmail when he was at the DfE.

This is all a bit of a red herring and if this is the worst that the can be pinned on Clinton after over 25 years in the public eye, then she'll be fine.

Most likely is, which is worrying for the countries involved in this digital age.
What makes it more wrong on Clinton's part is that she knew what she was doing circumvented security procedures, she simply took the approach of "Well if he did it then so can I."

Someone dealing with that level of clearance aught to know better, but we see this time and time again so I guess they should just be shot instead :)

The FBI investigation did not find that and my understanding is that the emails were not marked. It is no excuse though, it is certainly sloppy but at least she is not a narcissistic fascist like her opponent.

I haven't seen it but it sounds fairly plausible.

I think the main issue with what she did is the suggestion that she intentionally took conversations outside the official servers so as to avoid the archiving rules in place.

Obviously there's nothing concrete as shed be in prison if there were, but there's certainly a lot of conversations on Benghazi missing from both servers.

I think that it is more likely that she struggled to work on encrypted devices and preferred her iPhone to the office Blackberry.

The last time I checked, nobody ever got locked up because of an allegation...there was always the small matter of a charge, a trial and a guilty verdict. As I said, this is right wing over reach.

There are plenty of encrypted phone manufacturers out there, all well within the means of the US govt and someone like Clinton.

She used the state servers almost all of the time so clearly had no issue doing so, she just had a habit of taking conversations "off reservation" every now and then.

You can't require solid evidence for one claim and just accept the other because it suits your political outlook.

Based on the evidence we have (nothing but circumstantial) there either both innocent or both guilty - anything else is just your bias.

Protip: They're both probably guilty BTW, we're just unlikely to find much evidence against either.

Scara, I plainly said that Trump had done nothing to deserve being locked up. I was very even handed, as always. :p

I don't know which other solutions were signed off by the US government. I know that they were using Blackberry because I have heard Obama talk about it. The fact remains that even the alternatives such as Good are still going to require a strong password and my guess is that she had problems with this and found a workaround.

I genuinely don't think so. She used the govt mail servers all the time - for the vast majority of her work.

She then used those servers to forward some conversations outside of the servers and continued them there. Obviously there's nothing provable, but I find it far too convenient that all of her boring dross is on the govt servers, yet none of the conversations she's been brought to task over are.

You don't have to believe they deserve equivalent punishments if you believe they're both guilty.

Trump's crimes would likely end in a massive fine, and prison if he didn't pay. Clinton's crimes would almost certainly end in prison.

In the most unpalatable two horse race ever, one horse has gone lame. Lets hope they dont have to bring the screens out.

This is not destiny for 'the Don', is it??
