    Daniel Levy - Former Chairman

Ok I misunderstood your initial comment. However Barcelona for example absolutely do have a set system that a coach must conform to. Their system and structure has been set for decades all the way through the juvenil structures, it's why A Yamal or Blade or a Cubarsi can come and slot straight...

6th best? VDV is not a better defender than Danso. Romero is comparable imo with Danso being more reliable. Vuscovic remains to be seen.

    (Brennan) Johnson Again Olé Olé!

He played a hybrid midfield role for Palace.

    Xavi Simons

Im a big fan of his previous to his time at Spurs. I never felt Frank used him correctly especially by trying to fill the gaping hole on the left. It's a shame just as he was begining to really find some rhythm and become influential he suffered the injury. I do think some of the mooted signings...

    Daniel Levy - Former Chairman

Ehhh...Barcelona literally do have that, as do Bayern, even arguably Madrid although they are a little more flexible. The sporting directors procures the players and the coach plays them. Yes when there is proper synergy the coach has a lot of input into who those incomings and outgoings are but...

    Savinho

I would be surprised if we bought Savio for the right hand side. It's not where he performs best and it's not really where we have the long term weakness. Yes Kudus is currently injured but at some point both he and Odobert might be fit and available. Having 3 good to decent options in the right...

    Marcos Senesi

You can announce any time you want, you just can't officially sign until the window opens. More likely if the deal is already done that his Bournemouth contract hasn't actually expired yet.

Barcelona would actually make more sense, they play the highest line in football and need recovery pace more than they need a box defender. He would suit them in a similar way to how he suited Ange Spurs.

    João Palhinha

There's an easy solution, go for João Gomes instead, I think he's a better player than Palhinha tbh and his skillset actually suits what we need more. https://www.squawka.com/en/comparison-matrix/?compare=Fj3nauAAa3zSBOrdmHfI8

    Transfer thread

I honestly didn't know if him before the first link a couple of years ago but I've watched bits and bobs of him ever since and he does feel like he's going to be one of those ones we regret in the long term. When I watch him, he just seems to have it. He's everything I like in a wide player...

    Next seasons squad

I can't say i'm really fussed about the headline number. If we are indeed cash strapped I've watched enough football for long enough to know there are ways to work around that if you use the market intelligently. There is decades of evidence of where clubs sold player X for X headline amount to...

    Next seasons squad

What you would have heard at the time if you were paying attention is people like me saying we need to use the market intelligently and sell some of the players we have at the height of their value and reinvest wisely. Ie. Dele, Eriksen and reportedly Poch was happy for Toby to go. That's what a...

I don't think we can expect too much too quickly, it's going to take time for any changes to actually tack effect and even then there is no guarantee the changes themselves will be effective.

Ange's system tends to score lots of goals regardless of who is playing. We scored 10 more goals the season before Solanke joined. So it doesn't really ring true that he was a perfectly suited player when he didn't contribute more than what we had previously and we paid for that privilege.

9 goals for 60m, hmm I don't think I would consider that good. He pressed well, work hard etc but offered very little goal threat and rarely even had many chances. Some might blame that one the role he played for Ange, i'm unconvinced, he's never been a prolific striker. It's not about whether...

No I mean as in you said the same thing with Solanke and Ange.

You thought the same about Solanke and look how that turned out. 🤣 I jest I jest. Hopefully if the coach actually wants him and would use him then fair enough.

    Vinai Venkatesham - CEO

I mean c'mon he said himself what he wanted to play, we saw what his Brentford side were capable of. Is it really your contention that he wanted to offer little offensive threat and be on the back foot constantly? Again as I said earlier in this thread, if that is the case how come if that was...

I really enjoyed this post and I thought your made your points well. I probably wasn't clear in my post, but no I do not think i'm free of bias but I do address them and therefore try to be as objective as possible. It's an academic approach and part of my training and learning. I'm quite well...
