You know what will happen though: he'll look so good we will get good offers, but think he is just what we are missing and won't sell. 6 months later we will be subsidising wages on loans to anyone...

I'm not in favour of nationalising whole sectors, but they had an opportunity to do a Northern Rock with Bulb and put all customers from failed energy companies into a state-owned energy provider, like EDF. If that provider then offered consistently low prices, people would move to it over time...

The Moment of Truth on BBC Sounds follows Rotherham and Oxford Utd last season and is a really interesting insight into what the managers deal with and react to things.

Makes you wonder why we don't do this. Maybe they don't suffer with NIMBYism in the same way.

Wouldn't it have been better to do this when energy firms were failing? You could have taken all the failed smaller companies together in a state-owned company (a la Northern Rock) and then offered better than market rates for people to switch to them. Setting a lower price cap would mean...

Not saying he has come back carrying excess weight but he appeared to be in the background wherever the camera was pointing!

He was a punt that never looked like being good enough. Bet the original fee had some clauses which weren't met, so I reckon we wouldn't have lost too much.

It always annoys me that it is 'woke' and not 'awakened'. "I am" or "I have woke" is just bad English.

I agree. It looks like Ajax might cash in on Haller who looked a real player after being there but looked very average at the Spammers. Just think what Stevie will do there.

We are looking to spend a lot of money on a player that can play across the front line, but I can't shake the feeling that, if at Ajax today, Stevie B would be the one we would be in for...

Yep, but bear in mind it wasn't MPs that voted in Corbyn and not Cooper, it was the grass roots members. Those 'tankies and teenyboppers' are or, very recently were, the Labour Party. I do agree with you on Cooper though, she is capable and, as stated further in the thread, regularly shows up...

Reeves seems very good, despite as shadow chancellor supporting hs2 although I suspect this is a more constituency-based position rather than ideological. David Lammy is also OK if a little too prone to controversy for a top job. I've never really liked Yvette Cooper and she's been rejected by...

The biggest issue in politics we have had for the last decade is a complete lack of credible opposition. Regardless of the left/right political split, most folks sit in the centre. Some centre left, some centre right, but centre all the same. If there had been a good option across the house...
