Pending Liverpool’s comings and goings, I think we go hard for Gakpo or settle with what we have. Seems like they’ve learnt getting your 3rd, 4th and 5th options typically just leaves you with deadweight to get rid of in a couple of years. They’ve also made it a clear priority to only bring in Premier League-proven players.

I can't help now thinking we need an out and out striker, who that would be who knows. Thiago would be perfect for us, but no chance we get him

I agree that we need one, but with Marmoush I think we have enough in the squad to get to January and reassess. Thiago looks good but is he the right fit?
 
I would love us to go for Ollie Watkins, but unfortunately we don’t seem to be interested in a proven 15 - 20 PL goals a season striker.
