It was part of the last draw. Why are playing the second leg away? We did finish above them in the league.
We will be away 2nd leg in the semis if we make it.
It really doesn't suit us be away in the 2nd leg imo

We have had a few spankings that we've recovered goals later on in games that make them look a little more competitive than the matches actually were. The Liverpool 6-4 comes to mind, Everton 3-2 as well. Both were spankings that we got goals in late to make it look more respectable but the stats aren't really telling the tale of the match.Yes we quite obviously play a risk/reward game, but you are just saying how you feel/what you think you see - doesn't really answer why hardly anyone can beat us by more than a single goal. Yet looking at xG/xGa it certainly doesn't suggest we are coughing up more chances than we are creating. Of course these sort of stats aren't the be all and end all but does tally up with our actual results and why we don't actually get spanked despite some painting a picture of what could/should be happening to us week in week out:

See I don't get the logic of this, it's a 90+ min game, you don't get more points for when a goal is scored, and what about the criticism we get when we are leading and get pegged back.We have had a few spankings that we've recovered goals later on in games that make them look a little more competitive than the matches actually were. Quite enjoyed the tnt coverage.

I don't remember too many saying "ah but we gave utd a tanking" when they pulled it back to 4-3, I seem to remember lots of foaming at the mouth pulling of hair.

The United game didn't especially bother me, they are poor and they only got back in the game due to literal school boy errors. My complaints would have been about how we reacted to the pressure. Could we play out? Get around their press? Maybe even calm the game down a bit? We almost collapsed, United were beating down our door whereas that wasn't the case for us in either the Liverpool or Everton games. We got fisted up by both and after the game was dead for them we got a few goals, ok great it doesn't really tell the story of the match.
For me, saying we don't get beaten often by lots of goals is kind of moot. The problem is we usually concede first so we are always chasing the game, we have to fight to even just get back to even, which tends to create even more counter opportunities. Momentum is so important in matches and we haven't been able manage momentum swings in games.
Job done. Signs of what's the come (the third goal, Bergvall immense) and signs of the struggle we're still on. But for all of our issues defensively, they still only scored via a very lucky own goal and a really bad mix up between two young players.
I still see lots of calls of "why can't we manage a game!" and I still don't understand how sitting back like we did under the previous managers would make the last 10 minutes anymore comfortable. That's football. A team needs a goal, they're going to put you under pressure.
As well as that, our 3rd goal came from the bravery to play it out under huge pressure. Conversely, every goal kick after that was taken long -- one of them to absolutely pathetic cheers from the crowd -- and we lost literally every single one, inviting more pressure.
Many teams would just give up and go for damage limitation. The fact we keep going, trying to play our stuff and get back into the game clearly believing in what we do despite taking a 'beating' should be a positive albeit a minor one....See I don't get the logic of this, it's a 90+ min game, you don't get more points for when a goal is scored, and what about the criticism we get when we are leading and get pegged back.

Exactly, the ironic cheers did my head in and just another example of our 'support'. So many teams in Europe make their stadium an absolute fortress but we just sit there expectedly waiting to be entertained.Job done. Is funny people trying to play down this AZ side as if it should be a given we just waltz through, the same people who were saying what a difficult game Galatasary would be if we had drawn them. Remind me who knocked them out.....

You sure they weren’t the jeering aimed at the AZ fans who were in arsenal gear?
Was it around 85 mins?
