that's just not the case at all. our finances are posted each season and we break even (more or less) every year

Twist?
Can we please stop over egging this Top 8 finish they finished 8 pts behind 7th & 13 pts behind 6th, they were not challenging for higher but holding themselves ahead of the "rest of the Premier League".
6pts less would've made them 9th, 8 pts less would've meant 10th. Would we then have been saying "Oh he got a newly promoted team to a Top 10 finish" and hailing him as a top manager. To me he got an average team to an average position against the rest of the average teams like Stoke and Saudi Sportswashing Machine. We don't need that we need a top manager not Mr Average.
well now I'm thoroughly depressed
where the hell are we wasting it all...
two managers - one for the league one for the cups :-k
This may be a World first, but I agree with you 100%Lovren and Schneiderlin for me.
Shaw is out of our league/price range and Lallana is not what we need (when we already have Eriksen).

FDB is a done deal.
Are you serious?
Like, actually serious?
You do know we've just finished building a state of the art academy and training centre and are in the process of starting a massive stadium and urban regeneration project?
Did you miss all that?
I didn't miss all that, I assumed they were paid for by sponsorship and selling the old land, same way everyone else pays for such things
Poch to Monaco perhaps? He's played in France after all..
or maybe de Boer to Monaco.
We're building on most of the same land so we have none to sell and we've had to buy up a tonne of extra land to make space for the larger structure, as well as lobbying local and national government to improve transport links and begin urban regeneration projects, we've had to obtain planning permission and seek compulsory purchase orders against local properties that would not sell.
We've had to spend millions on employing architects and obtaining tenders. We've spent more than we have as a club, which is why ENIC had to give us a £40m interest free loan to cover the costs incurred so far.
Just for perspective, a fair few Arsenal fans online who really do follow football are saying it is now time to fear Spurs if we get Poch. I think many will be surprised with what he will being to Spurs. I am really excited.
all good points I'd overlooked, and far more than I would expect, 40m is still only 1 years tv money though right?

i think the plan is to be continually signing up talented youngsters, so that we have a steady stream of players approaching their potential as each season passes, as well as working on the development squad so we can produce players of our own. i think there is a bit of a gap in our squad atm of these types which probably is a result of having 3 or 4 seasons where we solely focused on the first team in the transfer market (the period in between DoFs)
I am not sure mate a few arsenal fans with us getting closer to them even last year which was an abomination of a year they get scared of us over taking them because some of them have never experienced it.
