De Zerbi has to find a way of getting Marmoush in the central position behind the striker aswell as Maddison in the team. Marmoush will get us 10 league goals if he is playing in the correct position.
So what is maddisons correct position?

Super easy way to do. Accept the reduced physical presence and play Marmoush as the 9 and with Maddison in behind feeding balls into the space for him to run on to. When we tried Marmoush solo up earlier in the season it was never with someone who could split the lines and give him a chance in space to get his shots off.De Zerbi has to find a way of getting Marmoush in the central position behind the striker aswell as Maddison in the team. Solanke doesn't even offer much of a physical presence, so it's not much of a step down.Super easy way to do. Just came in here to post that. Was a great show of awareness. Plus I’m amazed VAR for once didn’t disallow it for the “elbow”Am I right in thinking we saw evidence of Guardiola’s coaching there? The way that Marmoush let the ball past him to then turn on to it and finish

I think it works with Kulu also and Simons, they are all primed to play into someone. If we can as I said accept that he's not a physical battering ram, the increase in actual goal threat and shooting intention is beneficial.Does this theoretically work with either Kulu or Simons as the 10, if not with Fernandes or Gallagher? Maddison is never going to be a permanent fixture in the lineup, sadly.

For me Fernandes should never really play 10 and whilst Gallagher isn't the most finesse of players technically he does actually understand playing balls into space even if that's not really his strength.
That defender should have been booked for diving, what a cnut
Damning with faint praise:
Q. So Roberto, many players played well today, but did Solanke and Marmoush look like scoring in a month of Sundays me old China?
A. Marmoush, Solanke, very well, especially when we lost the ball.
AgreedSolanke did have one excellent turn and half volley which keeper made a great save from, but yes, he is not what we need is he.

Turned well to make the space, but the shot was pretty crap, pretty basic save, a top striker finds the corner with the shotSolanke did have one excellent turn and half volley which keeper made a great save from, but yes, he is not what we need is he.
I’m not keen on him in the 10 or as a 9 either really. I think he looks most lively on the LW.Another ineffective performance I thought, this time playing in what is apparently his best position as a second striker? He always looks a bit lost to me.
Not me mate, don't know too much about him TBHWas it you who liked Samu from Porto. Noticed he’s back from his injury and on the score sheet.
