Yeah, he largely spoke well on Sky. Agree completely, though, on the fitness issue. I’m not sure how he thinks it will be seen - to me it reeks of poor training plans and mistakes made, and it doesn’t reflect well on him or the coaching staff.

It’s a weird thing to keep saying to the press imo.

I think we are being to cautious due to previous seasons injuries. The players need to be pushed.
 
I don't really get it about the fitness thing. It's not just this season. I think Tudor said similar things about our fitness level when he took over. There were even some leaks that said towards the end of Thomas Frank's tenure, the players were largely unfit because they were not taking training under him seriously. They were not running a marathon every day. I don't think we do that anymore after Conte and it's not the reason we got the injuries. The only reason I can think of to explain why we are so unfit is we are preparing the players like what Pep Guardiola used to do - he was timing his players to peak at mid to late season, but they were managing both domestic and european competitions so I am not sure that's relevant for us.
 
There were lots of times in the second half in which Everton were defending deeper on their right than on their left. It was not always level. And they had more defensive numbers that side too, our left. So we needed to switch the play, have a runner running into that empty space and play two quick passes to get the ball to them. But when there are no runners moving into empty spaces then the opponents don’t need to defend those spaces and we end up coming away with a zero.
 
At least with our previous fiery Italian, he had the accolades to justify being a bit of a knob.

Alongside highlighting individual players' mistakes, add in comments about RDZ not being in charge of who gets picked for squad registration and frankly odd squad building choices, this is looking a mess. Even the Bergvall situation, super odd. Maybe he was trying to do some Jose style mindgames calling him out for getting caught on the ball, then getting the new contract in some kind of treat them mean keep them keen play but I don't get it.

Each game is a chance to turn it around of course, but it's a glaring concern that we look much worse having had much more time and investment in the squad. And talk about not being ready physically, like we were the only club faced with the issues that come with the world cup or the transfer market...

Given the slip ups it's very possible we could have lost yesterday, it would've been deserved. Individually, it was good to see Savio trying stuff, Marmoush probably a bit too keen trying to knock it past everyone all the time; I haven't seen a whole lot of him admittedly, but from yesterday he doesn't look a viable option as a 9 but then it's hard to say Solanke did either tbf. Not everyone was dreadful and that's something, but the manager has surely got to get them working as a cohesive unit. Tuesday is an opportunity but it's not a 2nd string championship outfit to eek out some much needed confidence, we're in for a stern test.

Tuesday is an interesting one for RDZ. A lot better teams than us have been blocked out by a David Moyes team and Everton will frustrate many this season.

Tuesday will be completely different. We should have a strong team out. Liv will have bits and pieces. But almost certainly they won’t sit back and play a low block. So with squad rotation for them, and a team trying to play a bit, I’d expect a healthy XG for us in return, whether we take any of the chances is another story.

In his press conference he suggested that he will be playing a entirely new team.

I think he can change the defence around and get Bergval and Gallagher massively involved in the game.

The interesting change will be what he does with the attacking 4 players. After his coaching to Tel after the game, does he now let him start as the centre forward and lead the line?
