Roberto De Zerbi *OFFICIAL*

Was the difference perhaps that against Brentford we were very entitled. We expected the opposition to let us play as our manager had instructed us toi and when Brentford got in our face we didn't own it. I thought today we owned that much better and got stuck in more.

One thing I would like to see more of is our players getting in the face of the referee. Forest did it all game. Every single player. RDZ needs to put his leaders on that pitch on the offensive against guys like Pawson. He reminded me a little of Mike Dean today when he booked Fernandez.

"There's another £80m player that I have booked. Another notch on the old bed post"

Dean would have been proud of him.

I question the judgement if we didn't respect Brentford, out of our three opponents so far this season they are clearly the best team.

And I dont doubt that at all

But there has to be some trade offs for results. We cant just be writing off games just because.

I don’t think we’re writing off games, it’s just a function of where we are. We could have won today.

I think it was interesting to hear his analysis about taking the wrong decision in the crucial moment in attack. This is what needs to come together. It seems like the team gets the build up piece ok. But it’s when it becomes go-time and we’ve created the space, we’re making the wrong call with the ball. Everyone needs to improve around that.

And TBF no one denies that, but you need to start getting bang for your buck on all accounts. We all know its a work in progress but you still expect some sparks........

It's been 3 games. This time last season Villa had 1 point from 3 games and were 19th - they finished 4th.

It's all mountain out of molehill stuff at this stage, especially when considering a new system to embed, a whole new teams worth of players to integrate and managing various fitness issues....

I feel like you're rallying against an opinion that's not really being expressed

Where is the mountain and the molehill???

I am confused. In a recent presser RDZ said Richie told him at the beginning of the summer he wanted to leave.

Then why did we continue to start him in pre season. It would have made more sense to take Lankshear on the summer tour to get a closer look. Especially as Solanke was unfit for most of pre season.

Instead, he was sent straight to the under 21s. That is poor judgement from the manager.

I am still behind RDZ but there is no denying he has made some suspect calls since he saved us from relegation.

Lankshear should still be at the club..

Yeah, really can’t help but feel that if one of your two strikers tells you he wants out, won’t sign a contract and there’s a chance he isnt making the squad, you keep Lankshear around to be the other option to the seemingly now always injured/always recovering Solanke.

Short sighted decision for me.

I get triggered each time I see he has scored another goal.

And people say oh, it does not matter because we have a matching clause. But there is no guarantee he chooses us in the future.
