How many Championship forwards have hit those relative numbers?

I think the ratio is more like 30/5.

There are only a handful of players who hit 15 PL goals each season.

Would not be the first Spurs player to get sent off in Europe.

So 30 championship goals would be 15 in the Prem, if only I could remember how many goals Kane scored in that league.

If Richie wasn't committed to staying, and with Solankes injury record, combined with us not looking to sign a proper 9 beyond a fill-in 9 like Marmoush or Gakpo, I'm surprised we didn't want to hold on to him even with the skinny game calender.

Under the scenario above he would have played.

After watching today....I'd rather have him than Delap all day long.

I dont think people take into account the entire footballing culture and what it takes for a player like him to go at his age last year and lead and relegation fight on his own at Oxford. Easy to pass it off as being the EFL and Oxford being relegation, but the absolute maturity and brass balls to do what he did means soemthing. I watched that last game and hownthe fans adored him and you realise what he did as a youngster and IMO that accounts for something. Ticks a massive box for me

It didn't feel like he was playing a 10 today...it was either 3 alongside each other or Bentancur a 4 and Tonali Gallagher both 8s but I might have been fooled by the lack of 10 type things Gallagher did??

I do feel like the Richie story sounds like a retcon.

Was key in pre season and the first two games, still got squad number 9.

Something doesn’t add up…

A better example would be Watkins who did well the championship
Signed for a decent prem side and carried on
Or Toney
The issue is that many come up with sides that aren’t capable of holding their own

I’ve said it for that my nephew was at Derby last year doing analytics and scouting
2 players who excelled were him and Devine
Different roles admittedly but both players who impacted games
I was in Oxford the last weekend they played for an event and it’s not a footballing place (that stadium is comedy) but the very few people I spoke to about footy loved him, like you say

Looking at the last 15/20 years, Watkins and Toney are outliers, Saha would be another, it's not very common.

But most come up and do not play for good sides
Maybe the key question is how many sides come up and stay up
In average 1 every 3 seasons I think
Which means the gap is huge but that’s not need necessarily a player gap across the teams
I did just check
Or the players who were top scorer and got promoted … and then played regularly in the prem…. Whose teams stayed up we have rickie lambert who did well, Ivan Toney, and Mtrovic
The rest either went back down (poor teams) or didn’t play for their clubs in the prem

Yeah, I’m factoring all that into the ratio.

If the lad gets 15 goals in the PL next season he’ll have done bloody well for himself.
