Heading to €iteh as Liverpool don’t want to sell Gakpo without having another attacker in place…
Stay positive

Richie dragging his heels doesn’t help at all.

Makes a change from him collapsing in a heap on the floor I suppose…
Gakpo to City is off
Ahem. The best hold up play he’s shown since the Europa League final is this transfer.
Have to wonder if he isn’t a back up alreadyWhat I’ve loved about this window is that we’ve been in the mix for our top targets. And for the most part, succeeded.
I trust that the club has a back up in place if we can’t get Ndiaye, or that actually they judge that whoever is available is not better than what we have. Sometimes thems the breaks. But I’m happy that we’ve competed for the best available talent this summer. It’s really all we can ask for. At this level, you won’t win every single deal.

I really rate him and thing he fixes an issue for us
But why now?
I guess the first option was Gakpo, then we went for him.
There’s a food chain and a cascade of events. And I guess this is what happens when you compete at the top of the market. You need to wait for the dominos to fall. Probably also why Palace were tinkled to receive a bid so late for Sarr, and charged a really high price.
But I love that we’re even swimming in these waters. It feels like the club is determined to properly be stocked up with the talent we need to compete. They are literally backing up their words with actions. Maybe we get this chap. Maybe we move to Akliouche or whoever. Or maybe we decide that a settling in period for another young player is not going to be better than Tel having a run of games.
But we’ve been in the mix and we’ve put our best foot forward. And we may still get him. If we don’t, there’s one less player that needs to settle in and maybe a shorter time to elapse before the squad reaches cohesion.

And Xavi after missing out on Eze…Echoes of Eze after missing out on MGW
Depends how the decline of Grealish vs Richie is viewed at Everton. (And not knowing their squad...what position needs filling urgently?)Think we can walk away from this now. City offering Grealish will blow us out of the water
