***OMT Tottenham Hotspur Football Club v Nottingham Forest***

Imho Tudor got it badly wrong today, from the starting line up to the subs. I could understand not starting Simons against their midfield but the half time subs made no sense to me whatsoever. The worst thing that could happen if we go down would be losing Gray. I think there would be lots of clubs interested in signing him. The rest of them can fudge right off with the exception of a couple of them. I also think this current set of players would find it hard to come straight back up from the Championship if we go down
All I would say to that is the first half performance would overwhelm most Championship teams. They won’t have 2 CBs of Forest strength.

However - I expect our team will look a lot different.

I don't know what Simons has shown to think he would have swung the game in our favour.

Sarr was really poor but is Simons the man to play centre midfield.

The formation suited us as well as it could as it stretched the pitch, the narrower we got the worse we were.

Because despite how poor he has been, he has shown flashes where he can beat a man/play a pass in a tight area.

We had none of that today.

I’m numb. I’m stunned. That’s a shocker. Tudor not doing the post match interviews either so I’m expecting a change.

Thought first half we were decent but didn’t create much. Hindsight allows huge criticism of the subs but he rolled the dice and went to a back 4. How many managers have been criticised for not changing things when we needed it? VdV also didn’t look right. He had the balls to make a decision but got it wrong.

The players tried as far as I could see today. I don’t think it was lack of effort. Ultimately, we had no creativity and never looked like troubling them really. Whether that’s tactical or personnel related I don’t know.

Whatever Tudor didn’t do will be the right decision in hindsight. Fact is, we just weren’t good enough today as we haven’t been for almost 18 months now. The brick just got deeper.

When?

Not being confrontational, but I haven't seen it, he looks busy but I can't remember him creating.

And then where does he play? Tel had to start, we had to have the pair up top and Porro and Spence makes sense.

For him to play everything else has to move about, and we had some sort of momentum going into this game.

Because Athetico were in second gear, resting up for Madrid this weekend, the tie was done.
This is why I've always said I'm a league centric person. Game after game, week after week it's how you can measure yourself against your peers. A cup is just that a cup, there is the variance from the draw and ultimately it's about who performed on that day. Everything is not equal so how anyone can try and draw conclusions from cup games is beyond me. Win ing cups is nice but it will never be a substitute for actually performing well and dominating a league.

West Ham still have to play the Goons. I can see the Premier League setting it for the last midweek of the season. If the Goons have wrapped up the league by then I could easily see them rolling over just to shaft us.

Maybe one up top and Simons behind in the hole. Draw players out from their back 4.

Our strikers didn’t get any change out of their 2 cbs.

Just of the top of my head Villa at home in cup/Wed/dortmund

You don't start either Solanke or Richi and have him in as a 10, so you can still play tel.

The momentum (if there was any) from midweek was manly down to him and his goals, we also looked better v Liverpool with him on the pitch.

Knowing our luck the Goons will be as hungover following their FA Cup victory parade as our players were when we got battered by Brighton at the end of last season!!
