OMT Badgers vs Eagles

Have taken a half day off on Thursday to go to this. Will be up at 4am on Friday for the flight back. It’s November 2024 when I last saw us win a league game at home - 6 draws and 8 defeats in that time.

I can make no case for us to win other than the law of averages owes us. We surely have to win some time.

This is more than a 6 pointer. We lose here and the unthinkable becomes more real than I ever thought I’d see in my lifetime.
I know you don’t get to all the games but that’s a shocking stat. Scary when you think about it.

If we don't win this, we are 100% going down. And I honestly can't see how we can win any game at the moment. Did not watch Fulham game, but I guess we were just as brick as we have been. I can't see these players fight for survival. It's been pretty half arsed this far, and don't see it changing.
Watching arse, and you can see the will and determination to win every ball, win the duel, scrap for a throw etc.
I don't see that from our players at all.
I think you’re being too kind with the phrase “pretty half arsed”!!

Vicario

Porro
Danso
VdV
Souza

Sarr
Pahlinha
Gray

Muani
Richy
Tel

Subs: Austin, Simons, Solanke, Bissouma, Gallagher, Dragusin plus da kidz who we will never ever play!!!!

But they HAVE to be more compact and comabtive.

I wanted to leave Muani out but we cannot shoehorn Tel onto the right, and he deserves to start with his fight and drive.
Midfield I could easily swap Pahlinha for Gallagher if I was convinced Gallagher would be dynamic in the middle middle.

Think I’d have Dom in. He was tinkle poor yesterday but I don’t like how Tudor is playing him (i.e. off Muani who is the focal point). For me, Dom is at his best leading the line and providing a focal point.

I suspect that Thursday could be time for a rendition of "Always look on the bright side of life"... a draw would be magnificent (yes, it has come to that!) but it really feels as if we are now paying for all the blunders of the last 5 years, and in particular not buying attacking players of the right quality. Not reinforcing at Christmas was just bizarre...

I'm confused by Tudor's formations, everywhere I've seen he prefers 3-4-3 or slight variants. According to sky the other day he'd played it 120 times and only 4 times with a back 4 up until today.
Whatever he decides on he needs to find a way to get as much attacking intent into the side. That for me means playing Xavi, Solanke, Richarlison and Sarr.
If it's 3 at the back v Palace I'd go -
--------------------------Vicario-----------------------
-------‐--Gray---------Danso-----Van De Ven
Porro--------Sarr-----------Palhinha-------Souza
----------------------------Xavi------------------------------
-----------------Solanke----Richarlison-------------
If it's 4 then -
--------------------------Vicario-----------------------
Porro---------Danso----Van De Ven----Souza
--------------------Sarr--------Palhinha----------------
----------------------------Xavi------------------------------
Muani----------------Solanke-----------Richarlison
He had no fit wingers other than Tel (if we count him as a winger). He had one fit first choice full back/wing back. He had two fit recognised centre backs. As well as obviously missing the closest thing we have to a deep playmaker in Romero. Difficult to play your preferred formation/style.

Hopefully Danso is ready to start on Thursday. I'm hoping to see Souza get a start too, but can understand Tudor integrating him somewhat slowly with him being 19, fresh in from Brazil where he was in the off season when signed.

I'd be tempted to let Xavi start on the bench and have him come on with fresh legs instead. He's struggling to make a positive impact these days, could perhaps make it a bit easier for him.

I agree with this except I wouldn't play 3 DMs. I'd have Gray as the holder, Sarr as the engine and Simons as the playmaker.

I'd bring Pahlinha on a 70 minutes to kill the game if we are ahead or clinging to a draw, but I wouldn't use him in a situation where we are wanting to be front-footed. His transitioning and breaking are just too slow
