Igor the Interim

Gross has always been a pantomime villain, he did what he could with a proper ramshackle bunch and kept us up. The back story on what attributed to him failing too is interesting as he couldn't get the backroom staff he wanted because of visa issues, his number 2 and fitness coach was the glue to everything he did before and after.

Seen soon after taking Basel on swashbuckling CL runs

I heard it’s because he didn’t buy them an underground ticket each

^^ Thanks for posting that Raziel, it is interesting stuff. IF it is true that Tudor will push the LCB and RCB right up the pitch like that, it will be VERY interesting to watch, for good and bad reasons!!! It looks like we would be sitting ducks for the counter.

Normally I would say that is an insane idea, but we have seen VdV push forward really well, and of course Danso likes a dribble forwards too, and of course Romero loves to push up and become an attacker sometimes... but it is a MASSIVE change from what we've seen under Frank.

A little more rambling in this one, but a few interesting in game shots

we're about to pivot back in the direction of Ange ball, or at least something more like it.

We were really bad at points last year with this approach, so lets hope that the shuffle to 3 at the back means we're not pummelled on the break all the time.

We're going to need our engine room to be firing, Gallagher, Sarr, Palhinha and Bissouma are all going to have to put a shift in.

Based on the video Raziel shared the big difference should be that the 6 doesn't press. It's the LCB and RCB that push forwards with the 2 wingbacks. So it should be reasonably stable. Tudor has a fighting chance as we do have time between games to drive a new system forward.

My only concern is that the casual guys like Muani and Spence that let their effort and standards drop recently will get a free pass. If they do it to Tudor then we're in clear trouble. We need everyone in the trenches whatever system we play.

he's got a tune out of Muani before, and with Spence, well, he's Spence. The kid's brilliant but knows it at times.

Yeah, the Tudor/Muani connection will be really interesting. Not sure who is first to return out of Kudus, Madds and Kulu but I'd still be thinking of those as 10's with Simons before I use Muani in that central area. His first touch doesn't seem good enough.

What was also interesting about the video was the exclusion of Gray. The guy was talking like Spence would get first chance at the RWB role with Souza on the other side. He likes his wingbacks high and wide apparently. I'd be surprised if Gray isn't accommodated somewhere.

It's gonna be tough for the injured players seeing their mates get opportunity to cement their places in Tudor's system.

These tactics videos give me some hope, I think my main concern at the moment is with the injuries have we left him enough time to get a reaction? You would like to think so, but the next four or five games aren’t easy. I hope this stupid board of ours haven’t gone for this too late and not given him a chance.

hmmm... i wonder if the something similar will happen with TF
the injury situation here is also unprecedented - i think the worst for any top 6 PL club in the modern era

well igor's fame is the turnaround.
it looks like once teams and players figure his tactics out it is vulnerable at the back
suits our situation really well - we need 3 or 4 wins for safety
