ENIC

Didn't see any flags at the game or hear any ENIC out chants even in a poor 1st half perhaps because I am quite a long way from the south stand , you have to ask how much support CFT have among the fanbase and who do they propose put in a £4 billion bid for the club.

I know many will say that Danso & Tel were last season transfers but when accounts for the current season come out they will be shown as 25/26 transfers on the books. If you believe Transfermkt figures then outlay for the summer & winter windows is 183 million euros.

PS Moaning and groaning on every Spurs forum everwhere but as far as I can see not accounting for inflation this season has seen the highest net outlay ever on transfers.

Limited flags!
Bloody penny pinchers, we want flags for everyone.
I'm starting a CFT out campaign, this lack of ambition and unwillingness to put their hand in their pockets is a disgrace and an afront to our great club.

So what?

- That is par or slightly above for our spend since Covid (Conte got the most, then Ange got the most, now Frank)
- Revenue streams are increasing

But more than that (as I said in transfer thread), the owners are the ones who keep saying they have money. If you keep saying you will spend (conveniently in September and December) and don't, yes you will get fans angry.

And that isn't even acknowledging the team is in trouble both results and injury wise. Even if we didn't have money, there would be a significant argument that we should go to the well (borrow/raise capital) to buy our way out of trouble, minimise the risk, try to save season.

Once again, they have said they want success on field, that they understand things need to change (spend/wages), if they don't have the funds to do it, sell up and go

You really have to wonder why the club made the effort to put out all that PR pre-window about the 'need to change' re spend/wages and then not actually show that things have changed. It seems such a massive own-goal compared to if they said nothing or gave a bland "we will try and boost the squad if it is possible" message.
Had something changed in such a short time?
Did they think such a message would enable more bums on seats in the shot term (they are surely losing loads at the moment with the seats that are not being taken up etc)?
Did they expect an injection of funds in January that has since been held back for some other reason?

Just seems like own goal after own goal atm...

I guess there's two approaches. The Glazers or Mike Ashley, who just shamelessly screw over clubs and seem to enjoy the bad PR. Or the Jim Ratcliffe and others, who package it with empty words and platitudes, but still do the same thing. I guess the Nepos are the latter.

Honestly, I/we don't know, based on actions not words, it's either

1. They think words are enough ala GB's option
2. They are selling (could be an asset strip summer), so net spend matters (the speed and low ball of Johnson sale is concerning)
3. They are just clueless, they threw Levy out and figured it would be easy (typical Nepo baby brick) and now with Paratici fudging off, both don't know who to execute and are struggling with do we/don't we with Frank decision

I don't think they are assist stripping, they have given a couple of new contracts out and signed a couple of big money players, we've seen clubs who have been stripped and they sell players and bring a few in on loan

It's because fans moaned about lack of communication.

So the new guys thought...'lets do communication'

So they ask ChatGPT to spell out all the things Levy didn't say that fans would want him to say.

They say those things.....

Now they're realising football is harder than that. And no game, on or off the field, will be won with words, certainly not the emotional minds of fans.

Hence, Levy said very little. It serves virtually zero purpose.

What are we using to judge the "best window" it's a meaningless sentence with out context.

We needed numerous positions covered
We have an injury crisis.

1 in and 1 out isn't "the best" window when taking those points into consideration.

I do not really disagree with that, however i would rather we did not go out and buy players who are only fillers until we get some of those who are injured back. IF we were to buy just for the sake of buying to give us numbers what happens when/if the better players return.

if they don't have the funds to do it, sell up and go
Charrington invited offers from interested parties last September but no one came in with an offer and all the talk about Arab consortiums buying the club seem like a load of hot air, when has any Arab consortium ever paid circa £3 to 4 billion for a football club, think the answer is never.

The benchmark price for a club the size of Spurs with it's infrastructure is the Chelsea sale.

People on here were whinging about how we would sign average players who we then struggled to get rid of for years. Yes we have a lot of injured players, but if we were to bring in players for the sake of being a stop gap for a couple of months by which point most players would have returned we would be in the same predicament yet again.

We tried to get a player or two that would improve us and it didn't happen, we move on and see what the summer brings by which time we will have more clarity about everything....

I wonder if there'll be "message to the fans" saying "we tried valiantly" to support our manager but we have to "work as best we can" to support the team so we can "finish as high as we can" before taking stock and 're-arming' in the summer yadda-yadda. With a funky video of different angles of Solanke's scorpion finish.
Probably just after the draw for the round of 16 CL.

And delivered via a video by Thomas Frank

Connie and Fredo only took over in September - all the above were Levy's final acts.

Their actions to date are: i) not firing Frank, ii) swapping Johnson for Gallagher for zero net spend, iii) losing the only executive we had with any track record of high performance in the game
