TF needs time to continue building from defence to attack. Doesn't help that two of our regular starting defenders get injured after the internationals.
because or injuries and late transfers, i believe TF is still learning about the players in midfield and attack.
my guess is that TF will eventually build the team around palhinha, xavi and kudus. muani being fit is the catalyst he needs to shake up the attack.
There's definitely a player there, but he lookes a bit "jet lagged" kinda?
He knows what he should do and do it to some extend, cut left, cut right etc but he lacks a bit explosivness to really take advantage of it, often get caught up by the defender and fall over or pass it backwards.
Hopefully something that he will add on in the time ahead.

Didn't someone say that since his ankle injury he's lost a bit of that?
Could very well be the case. Seen similar with Maddison after the injury. I recall him pre-injury to be much more explosive, like the way he turned Saka in the NLD, but post injury he lost that extra yard

He needs some space to work in.
A few times he has got the ball and cut in he has too many players standing around and has to pass it back out wide or backwards.
I think he will do well once we get Solanke back who can occupy the cb's

Simons and Bergvall when playing as the 10 mostly suffers from the same thing.

Those things are only talking points until we actually see it in action
I'm not doubting that those are principles he holds. But how are they weighted up against principles of being defensively solid etc.

Yep, we almost never pass to them. They are an island. Might as well play Sarr there for his pressing/tackling, or play Crouchy there for his headers at set plays.

Yeah. Until we're willing to actually play with some risk through the middle, play Bergvall/Gray in midfield as well as Simons for example, we may as well play Simons on the left. At least he'd get to get on the ball.
