What: West Ham vs Spurs, PL match
When: Saturday 13th September 2025, 17.30pm K.O
Where: The London Stadium, Stratford, London

Well, need to get back to winning ways. Was it a blessing that West Ham got their first win just before the break, ushering a new "Ange-Era" in the PL whilst doing so?
Or does Potter and West Ham have a new bounce? Did their signing Fernandes from Soton make a big differnce for them vs Forest and will he be a thorn in our sides too?
Or were West Ham just lucky?
A solid win before Villareal would be great, especially after the bad loss vs Bournemouth. I'm hoping our new signings make a difference for what i expect will be a very tight game. We haven't won their this decade!

Last minute winner from Xavi Simons from distance to give us a 2-1 win after Muani equalises for us in the first half after Bowen puts them a goal up.

Romero was suspended for the last Argentina game so was back early. So should be fine to play.

No Palhinha, Spence?

Id probably give Danso the minutes anyway, get his levels better for when 2 games a week start.

Porro or Spence is a hard call.

Id manage Palhinha's minutes quite carefully this season considering his age and recent spate of injuries, and only use him for the most competitive fixtures

Just watched Simon's first training session video, and whilst I didn't see Romero in the video I definitely heard one of the coaches shout 'Yes Cuti' so pretty sure he's already back here training which is nice as I would have half expected him to remain with the Argentina squad.

Perhaps he feels the responsibility of coming back ASAP now he's captain....

I think most were back today anyway, but he was back a few days ago.

Being captain might have had an impact on his decision

Doesn't matter how good or crap West Ham are, it always ends up being a tough game, particularly away from home (I don't particularly care about exceptions).

Really need a vibe returning win after the positive start followed by a loss and everything that's happened since then.

Strongest possible 11, Tuesday is Tuesday. Simons probably in straight away, doubt Kolo Muani is fully ready to start. Otherwise just our strongest players.

I guess the question becomes does the introduction of Simons allow the Bents/Pal midfield pivot to continue?

I'm thinking this

Venom
Porro, Romero, VDV, Udogie
Bentancur, Palhinha
Kudus, Sarr, Simons
Richi

Still has that strength you need in an away game by including Sarr at 10. Playing Simons on the left though means you need a leftie in Udogie at LB, which is perhaps a little harsh on Spence. Then, as you say, how match ready is Muani?

We'll definitely need our bench strength to win this one. I can see Johnson being the hero again.

I think that's a good lineup. Avoids the problems of ball progression on the left that plagued us against Bournemouth. Still a lot of physicality.

Personally I would prefer Simons in the 10 role, Johnson, Odobert or Tel left wing assuming Kolo Muani isn't ready. Think that's a touch more attacking while still having a considerate physical presence.

I think Spence, Porro and Udogie should get used up frequent rotation between the three of them as long as all three are fit.

Will be interesting to see what Frank ends up going for.

Bentancur played ninety minutes for Uruguay in Chile yesterday, and Richi started for Brazil in Bolivia. I would play Sarr alongside Palhinha, Simons as a 10, Johnson on the left, and Kolo Muani up front. And I would definitely play Spence, on a high after his England debut.

Vic - Porro, Romero, VDV, Spence - Palhinha, Sarr, Simons - Kudus, Kolo Muani, Johnson.

I believe that's pretty close to our best first 11 when everyone's fit, and I think we need to be at our best to beat West Ham.

Yeah, can't wait to see some of the rotation happening across the team. We are so much better geared up for it this season.

Danso has been a solid introduction to this squad. Bergval's progression last season means that him and Sarr can slot into midfield roles. We then have so many good options in the attacking areas and that's where a lot of the subs will be made from.

My biggest curiosity is actually Gray. Really waiting to see what Frank does with him.

Hope Frank gives significant game time to Gray, Bergvall, Tel and Odobert. When it seems right of course, but not just in case of an injury problem.

I think that rotation will be needed for those who are "first choice" too.

Kudus and Bentancur might need a breather after starting both their international games plus the travelling.

agree i saw this, some players had a lot of minutes, the good news is nearly all of them were finished by Tues playing i think so fair amount of rest time til Sat eve.

would love to see Xavi, Kolo, Kudus but cant see Frank doing it. I really think Kolo Muani could be great, his record at Frankfurt was solid

I think Udogie and Spence have to start. Pedro played a lot of minutes, and isn't the point of rotation to give rests early enough to be proactive in protecting players from injuries? Smart rotation now could be hugely important further down the line. I would personally not start either Simons or Muani, instead bring them from the bench/let them find their way into things.

I agree with the first part, we need to make small changes in some games to keep players fresh.

I don't want to wait another 5/10 games then swap out 9 players...

But I think we will see at least 1 of xavi or Muani start.
Muani has been training while others have been away on international duties, so as long as his fitness is ok, and Solanke still isn't back, I can see him starting.
