Xavi Simons

I will say I think Xavi should be quite a Frank type player. He feels uncomplicated and unflashy, still technically skilled but with excellent execution and decision making. Can see it being a strong fit for the manager.
Watching compilation videos as you do, couldn't help but notice a lot of tackling going on. The amount of times the move the compilation video showed was started by him winning the ball back himself, was pretty noticeable. He seems to have a particular technique to it where its often a half-slide tackle where he hooks the ball away then regains his balance and carries it forward. Does seem a better fit for Frank than Eze if that is a major part of his game....

He won the ball off of Rice before scoring that banger against England in the euros last summer.

I think he's the best of the 4 in terms of quality and potential, the question are more about his robustness
Only seen him in two games but in the compilation videos he seems to like a tackle - so its possibly less about "robustness" but that his natural inclination to get involved in the midfield rough and tumble means he will naturally pick up more knocks than an Eze. He has played over 20 league games in all his last few seasons?

Thought that was him. Didn't overly impress in that game but then again as I say with Johnson its about impacting the game and if you win the ball back and score a worldy in a game where you're not having your best game thats the sign of a good player

It's always been the case that it's not done until it's official. Anyone saying anything before it's official will end up being wrong sometimes.

I don't mind Romano and others getting stick. They're in part in the business of doing the bidding of agents. But quite a bit of the stick they're getting is a result of people thinking that close, deal agreed with club etc means more than that.

Romano or Ornstein saying something is done, or "here we go" remains as close to something being official as something can be. But until it's signed and official it's never actually done.

Yeah, if a deal was official it'd be announced by the club - until then those reporting it are making a call on their info being legit and nothing coming in to scuppering the deal - if people have been thinking that guy like Romano actually have early knowledge that deals are official when giving it the Here We Go's then that's on them

Is this the good Jacob or the brick one?

Ben = Bad
Gary = Good

I wonder if we see him more as a 10 or playing from the left. From the small amount of clips I’ve seen, he certainly seems to mostly pop up in places you would suggest a 10 would. Will be good to have someone like that picking the passes. Glad to see us finally adding some depth.
