Eberechi Eze

We will still get in 2 players
I’m gutted because Eze is my favourite non spurs player and it’s my birthday today so was a nice “gift”
But he isn’t the only option
If I was him… I’d have serious considerations as to why Arsenal have waited.. but of course we ding know any inside track
That would have a huge effect on what decision I made for sure
But he has his hasten there being an ex Arsenal kid
He also is exactly what they are missing imo

I so badly want to hammer them lot twice and I hope to GHod it's season 55 of them winning freg all.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! JUST pretend none of this happened

The MGW contract came down to an 'interpretable' release clause as I understand it i.e. poorly worded. That's what I heard. Eze? There is literally no reason we did not close the deal we agreed two days ago unless we were playing the 'we can chip a little more leeway here' game believing Arsenal were not going to come back in.
That's your opinion garnered from the internet mate . Which has proved to be so very correct recently.. you have no first hand knowledge of either contract so it's just speculation based on the reporting of others (who also likely had no first hand knowledge of the contracts.. just what they have been fed (or made up) or both .

Stories about him were appearing in the last few days - which is hopefully a sign that Spurs have put the groundwork in for an alternative for this exact sort of scenario

I’m not sure that a 23 year old unproven at PL level would be a like-for-like alternative to someone who has shown himself to be a top player in that league, and is an established and experienced international.

The club moving on is just sensible
We agree terms
Someone else has too late in the day
It’s gazumping
We have done it before and will do it again im sure

This Eze situation is NOT, IMO, an 'either or' moment.

Of course it's sensible to move on, especially to deals we've been negotiatiing for the last two weeks. It's also absolutely reasonable to ask WHY we did not close this deal when it was virtually closed at the start of the week. It has nothing to do with 'biases against chairmen' or any of that, it is about looking at our history and measuring what that tells us. How many times has this happened? Ask yourself that.
We could've closed this deal, yet the club believed they had time (again, to be clear, I did NOT say David Ornstein dictates our transfer policy, that would be macaronic). However, Ornstein is fed information that has already been in the 'bubble' of these things for a little bit and which parties are happy to circulate. IF we were never really interested in Eze, then we should never have allowed it to get so public. Whichever way you slice it, we have once again played our hand poorly...

...the fact it might well turn out to be better for us in terms of what Frank wants on the pitch are true. It is also true that optically we look bad. And it is also true that when it comes to 'key deals' we have previous and then some more previous.

I actually think getting Kudus done was miraculous; that's the one I was really worried wouldn't happen.

Its Maddison vs Kudus (from Ajax) in summer 2023 again. Its just cost us an extra £60m to correct that error

I'd be asleep on 2 bottles.
How was the rest of your day?
Chilled today
Went to a place called Pu du Fou yesterday
No idea where home is for you but this place was unreal .. I mean fudging unreal
We have universal being built 3 miles from my house (I’ve been talking to them about a job) and if it’s half as good as what I saw yesterday then wow
Is recommend people come to France just to see this as it’s barely know outside of France and I can see what it’s won so many awards
