Savinho

I'll be very pleasantly surprised if City allow this one to go through in time for him to play against them at the weekend, so would expect to be waiting another week for this one to be sorted out. Don't buy the injury claim at all.

I think @billyiddo means involved in the game next Saturday, not the negotiations.
Yea that’s what I meant as well. You can’t sell a player and then say but you’re not allowed to play him against us!

In situations like this the selling club will just hold back signing the papers until after the match. It amounts to the same thing.

Course you can. You can agree the deal just ask he doesn't play in the game on the weekend.

Always felt like this would hit a stumbling block so the reports coming out now that it’s off haven’t surprised me. Just hope this wasn’t an opportunistic attempt at a signing and they’re still looking to strengthen

I think it was always a case of either or between Eze and Savinho, not both. We'd be pretty over stocked in the forward/winger positions by adding both, and I also can't see us splashing close to 200m+ on three wingers in one window.
I think Savinho was not an identified position but more that if Savinho was available at a decent price it was an opportunistic deal that the club would have done. Sounds like the price City wanted was above that which we were willing to pay. As I said always a long shot given that it was a case of City not really wanting to sell but prepared to do business with a club willing to throw them enough of a bone to get Rodrygo. So this was pretty much a 3-way deal with Real Madrid's terms for Rodrygo dictating City's terms for Savinho and i'm guessing unless the terms of business suddenly lower its not going anywhere

Interesting, any examples? I thought that was a big no no.

Not a hill I’m going to die on though!:D

For some reason I remember us signing Danny Murphy and Charlton saying he couldn’t play on the weekend…and we played them next.

I wonder what kind of really important information I’ve lost in order to fit something that useless in my brain?
