We might never know but this fella (whoever he is) reckons the Forest owner has been up to some gangster, blackmailing type sh*t

I actually know THFC Himothy really well from back in the day. There's loads of stuff i would absolutely love to divulge about him but unfortunately i'm unable to at present , I guess you'll all just have to trust me....

Turning this into "Oh well obviously he's been intimidated into signing a new contract by their villainous bastardman of a chairman" is a bit like the slimy guys who hit on any lady with a pulse and if rebuffed says "They were probably a lesbian anyways".

A genuinely fascinating saga for many reasons but we'll never know the ins and outs. From MGW's perspective, sticking around at Forest earning a more than decent wage and seeing if they can continue momentum whilst having a real crack at the europa league seems fair enough. It doesn't mean we're an unattractive proposition, and buying players isn't like buying a tin of beans at the shop, i'm sure the club has moved on to other possible targets. FWIW, line ups with MGW didn't seem to fix the main issues I see with the team, even if he's a particularly good player. A lack of outgoings seems to be an issue, not much noise on that front.

Romano loses his undefeated record, proving the fat lady only sings once the player is holding up the shirt on the OS.

yes because they have a better setup football wise (for long term stability) and are able to afford higher wages.
i am confident that things will change with vinai venkat but it will take time but ultimately we need new owners like Clearlake if we want to compete with the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea or Emirates Marketing Project.
I think it’s a bit to soon to suggest stability for them.

They finished 4th in the championship, got themselves promoted with a team full of loan players which suggests poor squad planning. Then in the Premier League bought about 100 players that first season but managed to stay in the league finishing 16th. Next season they sacked a much loved manager in Steve Cooper who had performed miracles for them but finished 17th (sounds a bit like us lol) and avoided relegation. They also ran into PSR issues and were docked points. Hardly the picture of stability.

Having said that they did incredibly well last season to finish 7th. Although their end of season collapse was concerning. Not sure if there were mitigating circumstances or not. I like Nuno and he’s exactly the right type of manager to bring them stability. The potential for stability is certainly there. But not there yet.

Absolutely agree. Shame though, really good player. The most disappointing thing is that whilst there might potentially be just as good a player out there that we could get, he was homegrown and that was crucial for us. I'm not sure there are any HG at a similar level and within that sort of price range we could get....

HG really isn’t an issue for us
It’s club trained that is
Just to be clear the HG ones are
Brandon Austin, Kevin Danso, Ben Davies, Archie Gray, Brennan Johnson, James Maddison, Dominic Solanke and Djed Spence

Let’s not be bitter about it … he’s a good player that no one expected. We didn’t get it across the line and hopefully paratici can work his magic …. It was all a smokescreen

Players want money
Or they want a chance to compete for titles, Saudi Sportswashing Machine would throw money at players, not helping them recruit.

We do pay well, not mega wages, our wage bill is 7th in the league I believe

We are not competing in the league
We are in the market for players with clubs who are
We don't have the historic pull clubs like United/Liverpool have

Those combined means we are going to struggle to sign top players at the moment

We need to get back to the top end of the table

He is getting £200k a week at forest
We can pay that
We may have offered that TBF on our unofficial talks
But we don’t know what deal has been done
if your a player in this country and you can double your money with a release clause for next season… and have a new baby… and the club that want you isn’t city or pool (clubs who have won titles) … would you stick for a year or twist?
IMO lots would stay

To me I now believe MGW and his agent used Spurs to secure a better contract for MGW. All the rest is conjecture. I have a feeling Spurs realised this later on and stepped down interest. Next season will tell. I have no interest in this player joining Spurs in future.

They already had offered him a new contract

But just reading your post again…all those PR battles he does…I agree he looks like a fool. It doesn’t mean anything though if he successfully progresses Forest’s standing as a club. It’s undeniable he has done that, and this particular episode shows he’s winning the micro battles to keep his positive contribution going.
I think it's worth asking, how he's won those battles?

I think there might be some ugliness to this. It doesn't take much to think the fella is a nasty piece of work.
