Joao Paulinha

Makes sense as a 12 month stop gap to help Gray grow into the role. If we could swap him for Biss on a zero net spend, that would be decent.

A DM is what we really need, this guy has done that well over the years.
Agreed. While I definitely prefer Adam Wharton, Paulinha's experience would be a benefit. He is 30 years old and one might hope that by the time he moves on maybe one of Tyrese Hall, George Abbott or Archie Gray will be ready to hold the number 6 slot.

I think Palhinha's a nasty piece of work; he flies into challenges too hard too often and is happy to take the ball and the man and injure the player, which is not how I want us to play. We must be hard, but not unfair.

He gets too many cards and hasn't made the grade at Bayern and is now 30, so I wonder if his engine will last in the midfield with so many games.

We'd only need 6-12 months out of him. A Naybet to Gray's King

I agree with your assessment of his playing style, I'm an old fashion bloke and want us to play in a certain way and can accept we will never be serial winners as we are not ruthless enough and don't want to win at all cost, all very naive, but I would sign him if only to stop the moaning for a week or two.
