How are they unrelated? Ange was consistently mocked because he hadn’t managed in the Premier League. Is that the only thing that matters? Feels like there might be more to it than you’re letting on.

Anyway. If you didn’t like the manager who won us a European trophy, I look forward to seeing how you measure this one.
I didn't say I agreed with the viewpoint.

It's unrelated because what Frank has or has not done in Europe bears no relation to what he has done in the league or is capable of doing in Europe.

Ange had done nothing in Europe before this season either.

You asked for an explanation of the 'logic of Ange not being good enough on account of his achievements coming in lesser leagues, but Thomas Frank who has literally not even managed a match Europe is the right man?'

The logic is that Ange had never managed in the league so that his prior experience might not be relevant to this league.

Then you put in about Frank managing in Europe, that's got nothing to do with his suitablilty to manage in the league, and as I've said, if that should be a consideration then it would have applied to Ange as well as his record in Europe was brick.

I, like Ange measure my managers on how they do in their day to day job of managing in the league. As he said himself, it's a better barometer of the long term process and chances of winning consistently.

I’m sorry you missed the point of my question.

I’m sorry you missed the point of my question.
I forgive you.

Interesting that you didn't state I had missed the point the first time, but replied to my comment asking for further discourse. I'm not sure how you expected me to reply to you correctly without you explaining the point you were raising?

No
It was a daft thing to hit Ange with in the first place
Although to use Europe as a bar isn’t a compliment Ange pre joining us
We should look for the right guy based on what they have done with the resources they had

By that standard, we should hire Kjetil Knudsen from Bodø/Glimt, then!

"Spurs works as a business. That's legitimate and I'm sure the models built with the right intentions. They think the economic model enables the sporting model to function but that's not always true. Levy makes a £30m investment but has two better players in the way. They have to remove obstacles so that the investment plays. In economic terms fine. In sporting terms it turned out to be a disaster. Spurs spend a lot of money bit only sign players who are 20 and 22 because they ate thinking of future sales"

"Moving forward, now the season is over, we shall embark on the process of finding a new head coach. We have a talented squad and exciting young players coming through. We need to build on this season, develop our potential and inspire the kind of performances that we associate with our great club".

Both quotes are in a book I have just finished reading about Spurs managers...

The first quote was by Juande Ramos who was sacked in 2008. The player in question was Darren Bent ( actually £ 17m but I said 30 to not give the date away)... We then sold Berbatov and Keane apparently so that Bent could flourish and we could sell him for more money later on.

The second quote was by dear old Daniel after the sacking of Tim Sherwood in 2014.. He could have said exactly the same words after sacking Ange..

It is just amazing how nothing seems to have changed and so to finish off i will paraphrase Johnny Rotten, "Ever get the feeling you've been ripped off".....

The above quotes especially the top one is where my issues with how the club is run lie.

I don't marry either of them to the current manager situation though. Other managers have suffered more due to our business model.

We're not going to attract the really elite players. The only way to get them is to buy the top young talent and develop them. There may be a part of it that is to keep sell on value but it's not the only consideration.

Berbatov and Keane weren't sold because of Bent, they were sold because their contracts had been run down and they wanted to leave.
