I don’t follow other clubs that closely so have no idea.

There is literally no reason not to simply feed a line to a journalist if we are set on Ange.

...however they at least owe him and the coaching staff an inside track IF they are keeping them. It's appalling IMO (if they have not given them that), not shocking though. We have previous. IF Postecoglu had been given assurances, I think the nature of his comments would be very different.

I stand my belief they are sacking him, albeit I'd be delighted to be wrong.

I think the fact that all of us are standing under the lampost speculating based on nothing more than our own gut feelings says it all.
And again, without knowing all the details, it feels once again like we are falling short at the vital moment with regards to building on momentum versus looking like a weather vane in a gale.

They should be taking their time, reviewing the season together, look at all options and make the correct decision. They shouldn't be rushing into a decision just to spare Ange's feelings. He's a big boy and been around long enough to know how football works.

Agreed. For large parts of this season it was approximately 10 fit first team players.

Let's not forget, we rotated on injuries. If I look at what percentage of training session every player has been available in Ange's tenure, I bet there's barely any less than 80%. I would add that just because you've hurt your ankle, doesn't stop you doing upper body training. Learning tactics is the same. Just cos you're injured, you still attend the group discussions with the rest of the squad. You still get the benefit of the club analysts. You still watch the matches and you're still heavily involved in day to day activities at the club. You just can't practice them on match days.

Also, here's a counter intuitive thought. Our 2 centre halves who have missed more games than most seem to get the tactics the best.

My concern still remains about getting tactics to stick with the entire squad. Something is amiss.

My concern is if Ange were to get that dreaded vote of confidence. If he is staying, then saying nothing is exactly the right approach.

There's other easy ways as well. Just include Ange in some key comms from the club about something completely different. Just including him will send the message.

My only hope is that club and manager are having a conversation with the right healthy tension. It can't be an echo chamber because we won a trophy. It can't be a blame culture either because of the amount of losses. It needs to be a football conversation and Ange needs to convince his employers in the football conversation that he can lead us back into top 4.

Agreed but you have a proportion of the fan base want him sacked even after winning a trophy. When has that happened in the past.

Yeah, the time to do it was the chairman's message: "We now look forward to Ange leading us for another exciting season."

But perhaps in Levy's mind there's no doubt, therefore he didn't think that was needed? We can all only speculate...but I do agree with your last point.

I really would be surprised if Ange would look good at a middling PL club, id wager he would underperform all of the listed names at their respective clubs considerably. His tactic is not cut out for this level of competition and is exposed regularly, while not having all of his first choice XI available seems accepted as a valid excuse for our terrible points return over an extended period of time. At a middling club his starting XI will be weaker as a starting point and then his backups will be weaker - i really don't see how anyone could think he'd look better in a situation whereby he has less to work with in terms of quality on the pitch.

We've seen how he's adjusted in domestic competitions, particularly up against City and Liverpool. We've seen how he's adjusted in the EL. And it's not like all his previous jobs have been at top clubs/teams either.

He'd also have the benefits of mostly having a week between games and lower expectations.

and we've seen Spurs lose game after game after game, and that's what matters to me. Winning a trophy was great, but it doesn't excuse an otherwise disaster of a season

Many things were quite obviously amiss. Do you genuinely believe the club/mgmt have not been thoroughly reviewing them since mid-season? I think the levels of assumption in your post here are large. The whole 'ankle/upper body'? I mean, that's obvious. What are you saying? The whole 'watching and gauging while injured'? Again, what are you saying?

Injuries are only part of it. Rhythm on return, constant shuffling, fatigue affecting focus, there are so many factors. Inflexibility through January might well have been another. Essentially you either trust Postecoglu and the club to have seen the story and be planning changes to make sure none of it happens again, or you don't. You either believe there's a rare ether which comes with winning together in adversity -and want to buy into that- or you don't.
