Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

Their cars are really nice, I was in a showroom the other day and they look good and interiors are pretty slick. I know they probably have subsidies but you get a lot for your money - I can see myself getting one next time I change car. Still not seen any on the roads yet but I'm sure I will soon enough.
They're nice if you like plastic and lolling about the road like a blancmange.

Haha that's what I was trying to say in a nicer way when I was saying that the reason SAIC have taken a leap over BYD in Europe is their UK engineering team ensure that MGs don't feel like they're about to roll over when going around a twisty b-road or a tight city corner....funnily enough BYD are more popular in China and MG have redesigned their MG4 (supremely popular in Europe) exclusively for the Chinese and Asia/Pacific market as while handling characteristics on European roads have been widely praised, on the long/straight highways in China, Australia and the rest, it probably does feel a bit stiff on your long long drives....

One of the worst attendance record and voting records in all of politics? He's only been an MP for about a year...and how do you know what Ed Davey's record on serving his constituents is? As you said you couldn't really find anything about him holding surgeries and his own website says he's too busy to do so and can only see people by advance appointment (a surgery is an open session with whoever can turn up)....which you said "is fair enough". Fair enough for Davey, but unacceptable for Farage eh?
How about when he was an MEP for years?

"Nigel Farage, during his tenure as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP), served on the European Parliament's Fisheries Committee. Over a span of three years, he attended only one out of 42 committee meetings."

Why cant you just go "Damn, didn't realise I was wrong".

Admittedly I've not driven one but I'm sure later models will responded to European tastes, that part is a lot easier to update than the overall supply chain and research that's gone into their cars.

I think the MG is pretty loose too.

I was considering buying the electric one for my wife but it was a horrible drive. The equivalents at Kia & Hyundai are much better, and that's the first time I've ever said that about them.

Why would he join in with something he is politically and ethically opposed to?

I'm not sure it is.

Plenty of manufacturers have tried to create that feel that European companies do, but they continue to fail.

Yeah it's only stiffer/heavier than Chinese equivalents. Hyundai Ioniq 5N is the best handling EV I've ever driven although I don't think you can beat the tesla model 3 performance for all round package.

I haven't been in a car with as poor fit and finish as a Tesla since I used to drive old bangers as a kid!

They're great for range, but I've never driven 300+ miles without a coffee anyway.

The 5N is fantastic, I'm even considering it as the next company car - it's certainly more fun than the Taycan.

It's minimal (the tesla) but I like it and the acceleration is just insane. Handling isn't as good as the 5n though. I think hyundai are the only manufacturer that have nailed the blending of regenerative and traditional braking to get that feeling of being completely in control on a bit of a rainbow road when pushing on....

Wow Reform are storming away, whatever your view it's a pretty impressive performance. Won nearly 700 seats already and taken a few councils from Labour and Tories.

China are pretty determined to succeed and are starting to take over Western companies now in innovation and design. Only a matter of time.

Depends on their market. MG's comparatively more dynamic and stable cars didn't do so well in China ironically resulting in design of a bespoke range for the Chinese market. BYD have huge market in China and so Europe for them is "nice to have" additional revenue for them bearing in mind most American cars have been similar- you ever seen someone brake hard in an American car like a chevrolet? Looks like it's trying to catapult the back seat occupants through the roof

It was US cars in particular I was thinking about.

Even Japanese cars (probably the best in handling outside of Europe) need some tweaking to be right for really pushing on on our roads.
