Quite clear that we're (imo rightly) prioritising the EL and getting some rest/rotation into the squad.
Clearly second best in the first half and not good enough. Lucky to just be down by one. Good second half performance, even before the subs. Need to get that kind of performance more of the time.

The plan is obvious: Slow ponderous passing. No synchronised movement. Lackluster press. Only leave 2 players (high) at the back.
And we've been applying it to perfection for 2 years now.

Much better 2nd half but yet again Ange's subs baffle me. Takes Odobert off when he was looking like our most dangerous player. And then takes our creative spark in Maddison off for Werner near the end.

With Solanke in the team and Spence right back from the start I think we at least draw this game.
Gray immense in second half. Tiny Danso probably our best player, dangerous forward as well. Brennan better in the second half. Bergvall should have been subbed he was running on empty and made some big mistakes in the end. Deki and Son not much impact. Timo no impact. Madisson seems to have a hard time against the best teams? Sarr looked fresh against tired players but should maybe do better with the last chance but good to make the run.
Tel bad scouting, will never be a PL striker, If United is interested in a player this should be a big red flag.

He probably will be as long as Ange is around. He seems to want his CBs to play as DMs, which in turn means there's nobody behind them to cover.

Oh yeah, if they had of done it would have been game over early on. I don't think they really did anything to us though and all our problems were caused by our slow ponderous play. Never really seemed to have options on and then gave the ball away cheaply. If we had played like we did in second half from the off I don't think we lose that. Frustrating but a loss is a loss
