Out of respect to Palace I don't think he should or needs to. If it true he has fallen out with Parrish then I'd guess it's because he has told Parrish that he want to move and join a CL club or a club aiming to win the title if an acceptable offer comes in. So it's a case of let me go if that offer comes in and if it doesn't then I will stay and do my best for Palace. That's fair enough imo. Then it's up to the likes of Chelski, City, Spurs etc to get their arses in gear and start negotiating with Palace.
I absolutely do not approve of that action, and would most certainly prefer that he didnt go that way - Im just pointing out that in the transfer tango, this is usually the next step.
Total quesswork on my part - but - IMHO there was a fabled "gentlemans agreement" when he signed the long term deal last year.
There is, IMO, no way he intended to stay for the 5-6 years he signed, but he took the payrise, and secured his value for the club on the basis they would allow a move to a bigger side should they come calling. (IMO - of course)
That being the case, this is where it gets a bit murky. I think he will, much like Modric, kick off if he feels that agreement isnt being honoured. And, of course, Parish will be looking at the market and thinking its a massive payday - pushing the limit of Zahas value. That potential agreement, and his desire to maximise his profits will likely be at odds.
