Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

I think that's part why Ange looks glum/agitated in the pressers immediately post match. There has to be a part of him, that in that moment, thinks is this the players starting not to listen or beginning to check out?. Obviously, I could just be Arsenal overpowered us and made it look like that (the best teams will do that). It could also be that we are just going to the well, one time too many.

It is the tipping point though...if you lose the dressing room... it's over. But like the club, the players are sticking in there imo.
The players are
They wanna play attacking football and win games
But as per the Romero comments, they also know we need more players

But if you aren't doing that (winning games) belief can begin to drift.

Plus if we had only one or two injuries, none of the current conversation would be happening (for this season ie squad depth). It would probably be 'we can't expect an 18 year old to fill in' blah blah blah if we did suffer an injury. (But hey, we can... we've found that out!...even Spence has been 'found out':))

Yep
The kids are alright
It’s a shame the seniors guys have lost it

The original post wasn't directed at you Steff, if it was i would have. You responded to it hence my post about what was said on the pod as an example - I don't know whether you're over egging the praise of him in response to the overly negative views but it doesn't really match up to the relegation form that we're seeing. Yes extenuating circumstances but two things can be true at one time eg being dealt a rough hand + doing badly in testing circumstances.

Glad to hear that mate, I'd always take any directed question/disagreement in good faith from you and discuss accordingly.

Yes. As you will have noted I am a fan of dialectics. I often use them. With regards to over-egging the praise, perhaps -I am not in the best place to judge. What I WILL say is that I hear so much opinion without context that perhaps what you can accuse me of is applying TOO much context...and perhaps between those two spaces lies a truth?

I don't really see how we can judge how he is 'rebuilding our club and philosophies ' yeah, he was appointed to be the manager while this phase of the rebuild was to be actioned and he has overseen a lot of player turnover and reduction in average age, but that is a club led directive - what sets his performance in overseeing this rebuild apart from what could have been expected from any other manager? Genuinely interested to hear as I would say it's pretty unquantifiable.

His committment to the philosophy. Which is the crux of the issues and problems in all senses. And I think, in all honesty, I am continuing to give him some mitigation based on the injury list and overall bad luck i.e. Bentancur, who has now missed 8 games due to freak incidents/actions.

Regarding the injuries, it's perfectly reasonable for people to question the manager and his methods when you have so many injuries like what we are experiencing and it's always going to be the first place you look - he's the one in charge of the players and their coaching/training day to day, he's in charge of the miles the players put in to their legs, he's in charge of our style of play in-game which has us posting high physical numbers and he's the one who came here with a reputation of seeing lots of injuries at his clubs as 'they adapt to his ways' - That's not to say it isn't just a case of rotten luck or some other reason but people are more than entitled to look at him first and foremost.

I have never, ever had any issue with anyone asking questions of anything he is doing Billy. What I have a massive -and I mean MASSIVE- issue with, are the 'it's all on him' proclamations, the lack of context given to the attritional affect of these injuries on the fit players in the squad, the lack of analysis of who actually brought the fitness team in, and the overall assumptions that he is responsible due to the style of play we look to play. People were ready to hang him over the Solanke injury. I will say that if I was going to apportion blame, I'd ascribe plenty to the staff who rehabbed Romero and VdV (supposedly) and told the manager both were fit when they clearly weren't. This manager has a history of not rushing players back, so it really does appear he got some bricky info there.

There are starting to be signs coming out of the dressing room though. And Arsenal was probably the first game where I'd say the performance was questionable from some of the senior players in terms of application and following the manager's instructions. Even Ange said himself that the application wasn't good enough.

This is a question for sure.

5 points in 8 games, and we just lost lost against a poor Everton side. Can anyone really tell me the players we had out there today aren't better than theirs? We lost because of stupid naive tactics. Surely anyone can see this manager isn't up to it

The players look lost and confused, without motivation that is down to the manager to pick them up and kick their asses … instead he keeps picking the same players and playing with stupid tactics
