Huntelaar would have been worth a gamble. Ok, there's a chance he wouldn't have performed, but if we have the money available why not take a chance on him, rather than go for Saha, who we knew would score a few but basically be injured and un-influential for the majority of the time? Fortune favours the brave.

Of course he would; any sensible fan would feel the same way.

What? Gamble ?ú30m? Are you out of your fudging mind?

I don't get this nonsense that we should spend money, regardless of the talent. That's just ridiculous. Huntelaar isn't worth ?ú30m - period. 'Taking a gamble' is punting a few million on someone like Saha. Risking your entire striker budget on Huntelaar is putting the whole bloody house on it. That's not a way to run a football club.

Wait till the summer. We can't change what's gone before, so wait till the summer. Let's see who becomes available, and let's see what ?ú30m can buy you, because - in that market - Huntelaar becomes a ?ú15m striker AT BEST. No fudging need to go wasting funds - we're not Emirates Marketing Project; we don't have some endless supply of it.

just out of interest - how does anyone know that we didnt go in for him? How do we know that he wasnt on Harrys list? How do we know that Levy the tight fudger did his usual ?ú1.50 and a bag of chips negotiation tactics?

Huntelaar was available for around 10 mill before Schalke signed him. Redknapp schose to sign Crouch instead

You are making brick up again, when we were intrested in him and before Redknapp decided he did not want him the price was 12 million not thirty. Still never let the facts get in the way of your flimflam.

but over a long season you have to wonder about the stamina of elder players like Brad and Scotty, and about the commitment of on loan Adebayor

You're talking rubbish about Brad and Scotty. Brad has been excellent for us with no fitness worries whatsoever, and Scotty has been a stalwart in our midfield. Fitness and stamina wise, he has surpassed the likes of VdV, Sandro, Lennon etc... in midfield this season

Scotty went missing for a good 2 months since Christmas. He looked well tired.

Not my problem if your memory lasts no further than the last couple of games.

Perhaps it speaks volumes, that Crouch was sold for more money than we paid for him. I mean, that just screams failure doesn't it?

nothing wrong with my memory mate, i just wondered what kind of a job Crouch did that another half decent striker couldnt have done.

Plus it was depressing watching us launch hoofballs to him time after time

Peter Crouch hey...wowser

You don't even know me kid, so wind your neck in.

I wouldn't even spend ?ú1m on Huntelaar, never mind ?ú10m, ?ú12, ?ú15m or even ?ú30m. No fudging chance. He's the most average striker I've ever seen step foot out of the Netherlands in years. Yeah, surrrrre, he rattles them in in mickey mouse leagues like the Eredivisie and the the Bundesliga, but what did he ever do in La Liga or Serie A? Sweet fudge all.

The top three leagues are: Premier League, Serie A & La Liga. The rest are second rate. Not a bad standard, but second rate. Some players make a fortune out of being blinding in second rate leagues, but you're a fool if you think that makes them ergo superstars just waiting to be found :D

Who's the next one a chump like you is going to be singing the praises of? Let me guess, Dost of Heerenveen? Yeah man, looooooads of goals - the next Van Basten, right? fudging hell mate.

Hey, do you remember that other player who RIPPPPPPED IT UP in Eredivisie?? He was even Brazilian! Alfonso Alves fella - good ol' Alfonso. What a player! He scored more goals than he played games - WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!! Superstar!!!

And then Middlesborough bought him for ?ú13m. Took a gamble I suppose!

You can finish the story of Alfonso Alves - great player, legend...

Im sure Redknapp will use that one, that he bought Peter Crouch for 10 million, and then sold him to Stoke for 10 million rising to 12 million if he scores 100 goals

blinding bit of business 'Arry. A % of the transfer 'Arry?

We made money on him - that says enough about him being able to do a job. Go ask Stoke what they see in him, because it's enough for them to part with ?ú12m for.

Banging on about whether another "half decent" striker could've done the same is pure conjecture.
