Tottenham Vs Sunderland

Disgusting decision. That "goal" could meam a lot in goal difference.

Unless it was going to count for 15, i don't think it'll make the slightest difference given our monumentally appalling goal difference. What are now, +2??? Embarrassing.

As the ball were heading towards the goal, I'd reeled away off my seat and and were doing the SuperJan to the missus\o/

Rose and stambouli were immense today. Anyone who says different wasn't there or just hates them. I'd go as far to say that that was one of the best left back performances I've seen at WHL since BAE''s golden spell

the dippers are only 2 better off, west ham and southampton not a million miles away either side

I just showed my girlfriend that picture and asked her if the player was offside. Even she said he wasn't. She knows next to nothing about football but still recognised the halfway line as being important to the decision.

For less offside aware partners there's this helpful graphic doing the rounds...

@Quilo: @stancollymore Have added graphics to help @FA and anyone else out with this one in case they are confused somehow.

Fell over a couple of times, a couple of under hit, bobbly passes and a poor decision to shoot from range. Did attempt a bit of closing down.

He was decent, actually showed for it and caused their two centre halves a few more problems. Probably had more impact than Bob did in 70. Now he was garbage today

Couldn't the fourth official have a word in the ear of Foy, like he would do for an off the ball incident ? I've never seen anything like that before .

the defender is irrelevent as well, the only thing that matters is that verts had not crossed the centre line

Yeah , I agree with you. I liked both Rose and Stambouli very much today.

This is what people are missing, the dumbass linesman can signal whatever he ****ing likes, its Foy who actually agreed with the call that needs to take the blame

He has got his eyes fixed on the ball and making sure Paulinho isn't taking out which normally happens in this situation, by the time he turns his head Jan will be in the other half and all he has is the linesmans flag.

In that situation he has to trust his linesman, who unfortunately in this case is a massive fool.

If you look again at SteveAWOL's picture in post #344 ...Foy is looking to his left just as the pass is being made by Paulinho. I think in the situation, he were correct in leaving it to his assistant to make any offside call.

Thankfully their parked bus wasn't enough to deny us 3pts today... will be glad to have Mason back to help pick such stubborn locks in future tho... and Fazio to help reduce the number of mistakes from our CBs...

@MC_of_A: xG map for Spurs-Sunderland. Look at that vast empty area in the Sunderland danger zone. Lots of shots I guess.

Correct - You've said it better. Foy had to keep an eye on the Sunderland player catching up Paulinho.

And the massive fool part, is spot on too.

agreed, head coaches should be able throw a challenge flag in that situation

had to have been corruption, its impossible to flag there as the first box on the flow chart is "is player in defensive half?", your brain doesn't even go to the next gate, flag stays down
In what way would there be any benefits to this corruption. Lino just guessed

He'd stuck a tenner on 2-1 Eriksen winner like I'm sure many did?! What was there to guess, he was five yards onside, you're only guessing if it's a close call...
