I think we have to get Dier out of the back 4 and back to where he was so effective last season. Sod this left foot/right foot buisness, get a proper CB in the CB position.
And get back to the formation that worked

Well said mate, it does not take long for some fans to start bringing out " Walker has ANOTHER brain fart" ( about one of our best players this season). Its usually the same phalanx who started the " Jan's body language says he does not want to be here" gonads from a season or two back.

Are people really bashing walker??? Wow... Best right back in the league and comfortably our best attacking threat

Also I have seen Dier get abused yet we have had a great defensive record with him filling in letting in 2 goals so far so despite the complaints he hasn't let us down (and yes he isn't Toby- who is)

I was watching Fantasy Football on Sky this morning, and Walker is the top point scoring defender so far this season. Must be doing something right....
 
Walker had a bad game, we should be allowed to say that without it being seen as a roasting.
It was one bad game and a game where only two players covered themselves in any glory, so let's put it behind us and move on. Hopefully this will Spur them on to great things tomorrow.
 
To get anything out of this game with the personnel available to us , I would be tempted to go 4-3-3 and try to defend deep, deny them any space and hit them on the break. My team would be:

....................Lloris..................

Walker.....Wimmer....Verts......Rose

........Dier..........Winks.......Wanyama

.......Son........VJ.......NKD..

Run them ragged, harry them and press them for all we are worth for an hour.

Then bring on Kane, Alli and Eriksen for the last 30 minutes to apply the coup de grace. Football is such a simple game!

Son, Janssen and N'Koudou have made a total of 2 Interceptions between them this season. Eriksen has made 10.

Son and N'Koudou have made 3 successful tackles between them. Eriksen 12, Alli 14.


There's a reason these guys will be retained, regardless of how many times Eriksen hits the first man at a corner. They can press like Poch wants. Son can't just like Chadli never could. Janssen and N'Koudou are getting up to speed in how to play how Poch wants.

If these guys can't learn to press for an hour - then they are no good to us - full stop. VJ presses well - Son and NKD must learn to do so and quickly.

That's true, but he is still our best presser. His job is multi-faceted - create chances, orchestrate play, take set-pieces and, perhaps most importantly, press and press well. He's doing horribly on three of those four requirements, but he's maintaining his high standards on the fourth, so I think his place in the team's still safe enough.
