Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal OMT

Don't understand where the Vermaelen injury rumours are coming from.

Gibbs, Ramsey, Chamakh, Squillaci, Coquelin, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Santos, Diaby, Jenkinson, Wheelchair are all the ones who are injured or doubtful.

There defence will probably line up like so:

Sagna - Djourou - Song? - Vermaelen

I really really want them to line up like that, because that defence would be a shambles...

Think Koscielny, Jenkinson and Gibbs will be fit...

Gunners & Spurs call for respect ahead of Adebayor return

By Pete O'Rourke - Follow me: @skysportspeteo. Last Updated: February 23, 2012 1:07pm

"Ahead of Sunday's game, both clubs are actively encouraging all fans to focus on getting behind their team and enjoying what promises to be a great match," read the statement.

"A north London derby is always a special occasion and we hope this game will be remembered for both the action on the pitch as well as the positive support for both teams off it.

"All fans should be aware that breaches of ground regulations - including anti-social behaviour - will not be tolerated."

Adebayor's return from injury would add extra spice to one of the most volatile fixtures in the Premier League calendar.

Adebayor has endured a poor relationship with Arsenal since leaving to join Emirates Marketing Project in 2009.

In his first game against the Gunners, the 27-year-old ran the full length of the pitch at Eastlands to celebrate in front of the travelling fans after having been verbally abused throughout the match.

Condemned

The striker caused even greater fury when he raked his studs over the face of now Gunners skipper Robin van Persie during the same game.

Arsenal fans have never forgiven Adebayor for his conduct during that match in Manchester.

When the rivals met in October some chanted "It should have been you, it should have been you... shot in Angola. It should have been you" in reference to the deadly gun attack on the Togo team bus in 2010 which Adebayor survived.

After the game, Arsenal and Spurs issued a joint statement strongly condemning the abusive chanting

Just seen that Jenkinson will be returning, but to play where? Unless they play him or Sagna out of position at left back? Koscielny back would be a massive boost for them, he has been awesome for them this season and by far there best player behind van Persie. Gibbs faces a late fitness test I see

not entirely sure with who to play RM at the mo, probably go with Kranjcar and bring on Lennon towards the 60th min

Is Sandro fit? If he is then I would play a 4 2 3 1 with Sandro and Parker as the two, Bale on the left, Modric in the middle and VDV on the right. Can always bring Lennon on.

We tried that at the start of the season when Lennon was out and it never really worked (although Modric played right and Rafa in the middle).

The way it worked with Sandro was against Norwich and Swansea in January, where we played 4-3-2-1, with Sandro joining Modric and Parker in the middle and Bale and Rafa given free roles.

Arsenal defender Johan Djourou believes facing Tottenham is like going to war.

The two sides face off this Sunday at the Emirates, with the Gunners hoping to avenge their 2-1 defeat at White Hart Lane earlier in the season.

"When you play them, you forget the table; it is a battle and the best team will win," Djourou told Arsenal.com.

"They are in great shape this season, they have been playing a lot better than before but you have to forget about that and go to war.

"They have a lot of quality, we shouldn't be blind about that. They have players like Modric, Parker, Adebayor and Bale so its a good team.

"When you play well you gain a lot of confidence. At the start of the season some people wrote them off because they lost a few games but since then they have been unbelievable. But it is up to us to show that we are the kings of London."

One to pin on the wall?

Pretty sure if they were above us in the table they would not be saying things like this, they would in fact be saying the opposite.

I'm starting to feel the buzz...

The "should have been you chant" is crossing the line. But he does deserve to get a helluva lot of stick for what he did in that match, and the whole business of crossing the divide. I'd expect nothing less. And you know what? I think it will just spur him on anyway.

Put it this way, if he scores on Sunday I think a repeat of the Emirates Marketing Project slide would be enough for us to build a statue of him slap bang in the middle of Northumberland Park.
