Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

I don't really understand why anyone would go to such lengths to see what other fans think, smacks of small time too worried what others think. We all like it, shows the club is moving forwards and that's good enough for me to feel optimistic. Biased views from other fans aren't worth caring about imo.

I find reading the opinion of other fans to be interesting, illuminating and sometimes quite funny (be that intentional on their part or not).

It's entertaining and harmless. It's got fudge all to do with "worrying" about what others think.

So have a like for your efforts, Craig J. More of where that came from, I say!

I don't think Jordinho gets out much. I did like the quote about having 61,000 people boo you off rather than 36,000... too true!

Jord put in the work, I think. :p

Ah, yes. Cheers for pointing that out. Very long post and I scrolled too far up to see who had posted it. Nevertheless, the like went to the correct recipient anyway.

Oh and, Craig J, fudge you for your lack of effort in trawling the web for our amusement. That's the last time I'm mentioning you positively in dispatches.

The Porn hub community doesn't really mention anything about our stadium, sorry.

I'm currently in bed with a massive cold. A weekend of drinking in Copenhagen, followed by several long hikes in nearby areas back home, mostly in the rain - wouldn't be summer otherwise, and finished off with 3 nights in a tent up in the mountainous parts of Norway in freezing temperatures at night. I suppose the little dip in the nearby pond didn't help. It just so happens there's internet coverage everywhere.

You're fooling no one, mate.

Perfectly obvious that it's all just an implanted memory, bought from Recall Inc.

Could be. I can't find any pictures with me in them, but I'm usually pretty good at avoiding cameras (except that one game at the Lane in row 3, east lower. Bale was running riot).

Straighten up in yo' chair an' pay attenshum!

I love the hate and how ignorant other fans are ... do they not know our waiting list of season tickets?

How can chelsea talk about filling a stadium they can't even fill SB currently. They should actually downsize their stadium as it would seem packed to the rafters!

Well, (the old) Stamford Bridge was packed when I played there, but it was Spurs so that's understandable !

I always think the Chelsea figures highlight what happens when a medium sized club becomes successful, you find 20,000 + of fairweather fans, the Liverpool fans of my generation who support a team for no reason other than they are the most successful ones around. These days you have a few more to choose from than just Liverpool or Utd. The one team that rule doesnt seem to apply to is Emirates Marketing Project, they still seem kinda naff.

It's CL games they've struggled to fill I think. For their return leg against PSG that went to extra time they only had 37,692.

I am sure City had lots of spare seats in the CL last season as well and they are adding another tier onto the Etihad.

The thing about both the Chelsea and Spurs (and Arsenal to a large extent also) attendance figures, is that often the short-fall in capacity is actually due to away fans not taking up their allocation. Particularly in recent seasons when we've seen a variety of clubs with larger fan bases relegated such as Saudi Sportswashing Machine, West Ham, Sunderland, Sheffield United, Birmingham City, while clubs with also larger fan bases like Leeds, Nottingham Forest, Derby County, Sheffield Wednesday etc are still languishing in the lower-leagues.

There's been a bit of a situation developing in English football where a lot of the country's traditionally best supported clubs, particularly Leeds and Sheffield Wed are in the lower divisions, while the BPL has been filled with pretty small clubs by comparison, with clubs like Swansea, Wigan, Burnley, Stoke, Southampton, Blackpool and Bournemouth spending far more time in the top flight than you would have expected. While it shows these clubs are well run when compared to their 'bigger' rivals, what they do bring is an inability to fill away allocations consistently and thus an actual decrease in average attendance across the board.

Something else interesting (or perhaps not?) is that many clubs in the PL quote the number of tickets sold as the attendance (I know that both Arsenal and West Ham do this) which is why the attendance figure quoted is sometimes close to capacity despite the ground showing numerous empty seats. We are one of the few clubs that quote the actual number of spectators through the turnstiles instead of the number of seats sold. If we opted for the same method as Arsenal and West Ham (amongst others) then our % full figures would look even more impressive.
