*** Tottenham Hotspur FC vs South Coast Big Club OMT ***

I'd like SCBC to play like the team that conceded 3 goals in 7 minutes, then it won't matter as much who plays for us.

For me we need to play the same team and formation that scored 3 goals in 7 minutes against City, except replace Dempsey for Lennon.

Lloris

Walker Dawson Vertonghen BAE

Hudd Dembele Holtby

Bale Defoe Lennon

Absolute must win.

That front three is very iffy. You won't stretch the defence. Lennon and Bale will both come inside and the centre will be too congested for anyone to operate in.

Need one player to keep the width at the very least.

Urgh..I'm already guilty of constantly looking past this match like I'm subconsciously presuming we will win.

Uurrrggghhh.

Dembele should play. Chelsea match is only important if we win v Southampton.

Whilst I agree with the fact that every game is now important, we are more than capable of beating Southampton at home without Dembele. Plus, if we do win this one (chelsea game becomes more important) but Dembele then gets ruled out for the Chelsea game due to playing against Southampton, was it worth it?

Sadly, I agree. It's a shame that Parker is still getting games despite being off form. AVB must really like him. Were Chelsea after him last season under AVB at the same time we were? Or am I just completely making stuff up here? I think the trio would work well. Siggy at the top of the three, almost playing off of the striker in his best position and Holtby and Hudd a little deeper but dictating the play.

Yeah, I'd prefer it if Dembele started on the bench. We should see how Holtby does in the middle, I mean it's a squad game, let's use it.

AVB's not stupid, he can see Parker's inability to make a 5 yard pass as well as the rest of us can. I'm 99% certain that AVB sees it as sacrificing creativity and passing rhythm in favor of solidity in midfield. Parker sucks at playing football but he's good at breaking up play and reading the game. I disagree with AVB's approach here but obviously he knows better than I do.

His fancy words make him seem smart, but looking at some of the players he chooses (Adebayor off form, Parker off form, Naughton at left back, Vertonghen at left back at times, Friedel over Lloris etc) are a bit mind boggling.

It's not that mind boggling really. Defoe has been preferred to Adebayor, Lloris preferred to Friedel, and Sandro to Parker. Both our left backs are poor, they can't play higher up the pitch though I agree that Ekotto should probably start. The real problem is that we have a lot of players who just aren't good enough.

Anyway the team I'd like to see would be this:

--------------Lloris
Walker--Dawson--Vertonghen--Ekotto
----------Huddlestone--------------
------Holtby--------Dembele--------
-Lennon-----Defoe-----Bale--------

Then perhaps start Parker vs Chelsea. I'm a little worried about this game injury wise tbh, it would be typical Spurs luck to see Bale and Dembele both injured yet again before our vital game against Chelsea.

I'd like to see us really have a go. I think we can play with Hudd and Dembele as a duo. Lennon hopefully returns, Siggy left, Bale behind Defoe for me. I think we can build up some steam here if we get in the right frame of mind and can settle early. Hope to build some confidence going into the Chelsea game. But Southampton clearly have some decent players, and will not be underestimated.

We all thought that after the City game.

Underestimating the ability of this Spurs side (or, indeed, any Spurs side) to completely and comprehensively toss away opportunity after opportunity is a fatal error to make. :)

The worry is that the 11 or even some who pull on the lillywhite shirt do that on saturday.
