Timo Werner

Yep experienced cover across a few positions when we're in the EL too
It's a no brainer for me

Means no new LWF coming in. I.e. Son will be a starter there.

I don't mind that, but would rather have gone for youth (e.g. Nusa), than Werner, as back-up.

Don't think he really showed himself to be all that great tbh and as i said in another thread I'd rather we were targetting a player who can potentially step up and replace Son as he appears to be on the wane.

That said, extending a loan isn't the same as buying him outright. If we upgrade CF this summer and then LWF next summer after the loan finishes i can live with that.

Use the funds on a really good CM, one that reads the game and can sniff out danger, as well as being a good passer. Not many of those around, but that Ederson fella at Atalanta looked to be in that mould.

I'm inclined to fill the midfield with players that are the best passers possible. If you can make difficult passes on a regular basis, you will create chances.

Look at Madrid, Modric and Kroos. Incredible passers. Prime Barca with Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets. All incredible passers of the ball. Same with City with Rodri, De Breune and Bernard Silva.
