The race for 86 points

Will not be easy. Think it could be our toughest game left with the way that Palace have played against both Arsenal, and Chelsea. The side had belief and work tirelessly.

Leicester are also a much better side than they were earlier in the season so that game isn't a foregone conclusion either.

Looks like Arsenal are trying to make it easier for us. Lets ignore the upcoming predictable media deadlines and focus on our games. Next up Bournemouth.

We're 14 points ahead of Arse at the moment. So they'd need 4 wins and 2 draw from their final 8 games to even close that game - based on current form, I think its highly debatable whether they'd even get that many

I'm a little apprehensive of being over confident about the NLD but we should beat them convincingly if we continue our home form.

First time in ages that I can say that id be a little disappointed if we didn't put them to the sword.

A classic 5 -0 would be a lovely send of to Wenger and more importantly for the sacred lady that is the lane

Arse look broken on and of my the pitch which is great to see

We need a bit optimism from some of you guys

When ex Arsenal players talk about us going the right way and being massively positive about us maybe some go our fans should join in

Been looking forward to the NLD for ages, i can really see us giving them a bit of a kicking, there is such a lack of desire and organisation in their team.
Only possible way i could see that not happening is if they tried to park the bus.

When Arsenal faces Spurs, the form book goes out of the window. We should know that. We faced down their invincibles with far weaker sides and at times managed to get a result. A lot can change in 2 weeks. They will come here with the same mentality Chelsea had when we faced them at SB last season. They will want to spoil the season for us. Lets not use the result against Palace to underestimate them.

Arsenal have a proven habit of being able to go on unbeaten runs in the last stage of the season. I am more inclined to focus on winning our remaining games than their ability to catch us. Lets safely assume that they can win all their remaining games (except the one at WHL).

Arsenal have a proven habit of being top 4 but also..,

Arsenal also haven't lost 4 away games by 3 goals since 1908 or something like that

Arsenal also hadn't lost to palace for 40 odd years

History is just that ... the past and in football doesn't always correlate to the future

It's all about hitting form at the right time. Arsenal used to be good at that. Arsenal, City and Liverpool all came out of the blocks well and had good early season form but it is very difficult to maintain that over the course of a season and it is far better being in form at the business end of the season. I think that a lot of credit has to go to the coaching staff for this.

Not least in the face of a potentially crippling injury situation, which has been navigated through as painlessly as we could ever have hoped.

I agree but i have thought for a while (7 years) that the gap was closing and over the last few years we were better, but didnt have the mentality or luck to finish above them. That once this happened we wouldnt finish above by a point but probably 10pts. The last few years we finished below them, they didnt finish above us.

This isnt to do with palace, its that they have zero confidence, we are the best team in the league, (chelsea had no europe that seems to be worth 10pts). Only one of arsenal's players could get in our team.

Could they beat us in a one off game, of course, will that make a difference, absolutely none.. If you had a million pounds what result would you bet on!

Poch seems to have had us hitting our stride around decemeber these last two years and holding on to it for the rest of the campaign. Hopefully next year with a proper pre-season under our belts we will start better.

The ironic thing about that table is a lot of noise has been made about how Man Utd have been unbeaten in all that time. :D

Both Spurs and Arsenal have two Premier League games to play before they come to a head at the end of April, with the Gunners facing Middlesbrough and Leicester, while Tottenham face Bournemouth and Palace.

Assuming both sides win their two games – which is far from a given considering Arsenal’s current form – then a win for Spurs in the derby will extend the gap to 17 points, with Arsene Wenger’s men having only five games remaining, and a total of 15 points to play for.

No one can sustain full pelt for 9 months. There will always be particular times when we peak, and that can be managed. But yes I agree the Euros did seem to have a negative affect on our early season.

I just hope next season Harry and co realise that the season starts in mid August and not late September

For the first time in 3 years there is no WC, pointless U21 tournament or Euros to affect us. Just a few pointless long-haul friendlies for the sponsors.
