0-0 HT at St Mary's. Southampton so far equal to the task defensively, despite gifting Liverpool two or three chances. Forster made an excellent save from Mane's curler, and v. Dijk has been impressive, but Saints look completely toothless up front, Austin ploughing a very lonely furrow and looked to be struggling after taking a knock. Pool biding their time.

At the same time he should be quite happy he's gone from League One to PL to a Euro win while at Southampton. Not bad going.

He's 32 now, as late as the 2010/11 season he was in League One with Southampton. That's 6 years ago at the age of 26. I think most 26 year old League One players would take his career trajectory.
 
A second Cheatski goal, which surely won't be long coming, will extinguish any faint hopes Boro have of getting back into this one. They've weaved one or two pretty patterns in their approach play at times, but suffered a collective nosebleed on every incursion into the final third. The very definition of unconvincing.
 
Adama looks like he has the same build as Dembele and some of the same dribbling skills. If he can be coached he could become quite a player.
