The Cricket Thread

So is tomorrow a guaranteed wash out or just a bit uncertain? Would be good for the bowlers to get this done and dusted as early as possible and rest up for the last test
Looks like a washout according to the forecast. Might be able to get some play on Sunday, enough overs to get 6 wickets I wouldn't bank on though. Hopefully the forecast is wrong as England thoroughly deserve to win this.

Well not looking good, looks like rain all weekend with no significant breaks. Unless something dramarically changes looks like its done

Just looking at the County table and fixtures. So four games left and Essex in second and Warwickshire in third have to play each other twice.

Isn't that the one dayers? I think we have three county's left, Hampshire and the bottom two, unless I've read our fixtures wrong hahaha

A bit of shyte way to win the ashes. At least England can hold their heads high. Defeated by the weather most likely.

Oh I did yes- sorry. Warwickshire still in the hunt with a game in hand.

I think any of those four could win it. Ideally it goes to the last day of the last game.

Yeh I hope so, I popped over Thursday for a couple of hours, will pluck a couple of more days before seasons over, hopefully in the hunt

If we have to play in Manchester make it the first fudging test.

24 days in total lost there to weather in tests and an additional 2 entire washouts

I think fans are cheated in sports often, how we don't have emergency days or contingency for floodlight play so fans get better value. They desperately need to do something about slow over rates

Like in football, need to sort out time wasting etc, something silly now like 40 mins of actually football per game or something silly at moment

Not long now until the England team have to hear the Aussies whooping and screaming and laughing from their changing room. Cummins will think he’s a genius but he should be embarrassed at the way he’s captained.

Taking it well, then? :D

If it were the other way round I'd feel differently but this is so so disappointing.
I don't follow cricket that closely so I guess I'm the type of fan that cricket needs to get more interested and this series has been absolutely magnificent.
Barely a session that didn't have something amazing happen and for the series to be decided like this just isn't good enough if test cricket wants to thrive.
I understand that the little foibles and idiosyncrasies of Cricket are a big part of what makes it unique and beautiful but a massive sporting event like the ashes just can't be allowed to be won like this and expect to keep the casual fan coming back for more.

The cricket equivalent of bus parking, with a fair bit of "bending" the rules on the way.

It’s a joke
I hope we stuff them at the Oval
Our cricket in the last 2 tests has been phenomenal
If we had have played like that at Edgbaston & Lords we would be 3-0 up
