Name a better sporting contest than the Ashes, for me there simply isn't one

Time to have a rest for a few days and then make some difficult decisions

I would bring in Jimmy for Robinson and also Foakes for Bairstow

Crawley
Duckett
Stokes
Root
Brook
Foakes
Moen
Woakes
Wood
Broad
Anderson

I fancy the Aussies to make some changes too

That’s what I’d play as well, I’d have Moen as the sacrificial lamb at 3 though.

they wont bring Foakes in though unfortunately

Me three although like you I don't think Foakes will play, although in a weird way I think had we lost he would have got the dead rubbers.

Many of our lot need this rest for sure

I switched it off and watched the last hour of Zulu....it kinda felt the same

Was invited round neighbours to see their new garden room and just managed to leave in time to see last 14 balls, I don't think I could have stood the pressure. I thought it was great to see Ali going in at 3, terrific team spirit.

Even if he was a crashing disappointment!

It helped in achieving the result, a good team has players who are prepared to sacrifice their own ambitions for the good of the team.

Yeh and you have to respect the fact that he went to the coach last night and proactively put his hand up and wanted to do it. I think people sometimes forget that there is another world class side there wanting to win and that chasing 200+ as a final innings is tough.

I cannot believe Headingley isn't an Ashes venue in 2027 and Edgbaston in 2031 they are 2 of the very best cricketing venues

They are playing at the souless Aegas Bowl which has nothing around it and is terrible from a public transport perspective

In 2027, England Men will play Tests against Australia at Lord's, The Kia Oval, Edgbaston, Trent Bridge and The Ageas Bowl.

In 2031, they contest five Tests at Lord's, The Kia Oval, Emirates Old Trafford, Headingley and Trent Bridge.
