The Academy, NextGen, U18 & U21 Premier League and On-Loan Thread

Overall, Barcelona deserved the win but it was a pretty good performance from Spurs, especially in the first half.

Pritchard and McEvoy (who may well give Lennon a run for his money sometime in the future) both hit the woodwork.

If anything the game highlighted the dangers of having slow CB's in a high pressing system. We played well in the build up especially when Pritchard was orchestrating, Bale 2 was effective on the right would have liked to seen him cut in and use his left foot. Bentaleb in the midfield was doing a good job of keeping possession and moving the ball, our RB (not sure the name) had a solid night.

Agree that Pritchard looked very good. Very comfortable on the ball, quick feet, good vision,....highly promising. Just need someone to take that natural talent and direct it appropriately. Wonder whether he's the sort of person who would progress quicker by playing with better players? Seemed that on a couple occasions other players' brains werent working as quickly as him

McEvoy I thought was quite poor. To me he looks like wont who wont make it

Only caught the highlights now at HT, but Coulibaly looks decent inside the box.

I thought Coulibaly was poor tonight. His movement was none existent and he has some way to go before he will be ready for the first team.

completely forgot about this, the mrs was out all night as well, gutted!

What was the atmosphere like then? How many turned up?

Did Barca look good, or did we match them?

West stand was sold out and most of the Park Lane lower full too. I'd guess that there was around 10k maybe a little more.

Atmosphere was good. It was a giggle.

I thought that Barca were a lot better organised than us. We had a couple of good individuals they were a good team.

just back and rarely post anymore on here but have to say what a wonderfull experiance the whole thing was . singing and laughing the whole game , not on anyones back .. major respect to the 1882 guys for liasing with the club and getting the two rowdy sections was great to have a good sing with you all .. i hope the club take things seriously and dont kick off about the whole standing issue today as at times they wernt happy, could be a good thing a very good thing for the club .. whens the next home game ?.. oh and by the way it was 4-2 spurs not 2 nil .. allthough one goal was after the whistle ;]

Going by the capacity of the West Stand (7k+) and South Lower (4k) my guess was between 10-12K, but the official attendance was announced as only 8887. Thousands arrived up to half an hour after the k.o. so maybe some of them were let in free?

Attendance was announced as 8,897.

I was seriously unimpressed when our boys walked off the pitch at the end without barest hint of recognition for the fans - especially for our corner of the West Lower, where the 1882 lot sang throughout the game.

I think Inglethorpe or someone must have had a word with them, though, because they quickly walked out on to the pitch again to acknowledge the tremendous support.

I suppose that they might initially just have felt that they had let the fans down and therefore were too ashamed to acknowledge us. Maybe they don't realise, having never previously been in the situation, that they should always acknowledge the fans after the game - win, lose or draw.

Good shout. We played the English way, they played like their first team.

I don't think so at all.

In fact, I thought that Spurs played marginally the better football in the first half.

Second half, we were sloppy and lacking in ideas. The strongest part of their team, I thought, was their defence.

But they didn't dominate possession as their first team do at all. The majority of their attacks were breakaways. And their goal was classic route one. In fact, a lot of their play involved long balls to their speedy attacking players.
