The Academy, NextGen, U18 & U21 Premier League and On-Loan Thread

Steven Caulker's 28th minute goal has put England U-21s 1-0 up at half-time in Azerbaijan.

Danny Rose also started for England.

Goals from Steven Caulker and Jonjo Shelvey gave the England U21 side victory over Azerbaijan in a European Championship qualifier in Baku.

Tottenham defender Caulker headed home a free-kick from Shelvey before the Liverpool midfielder added a second with seven minutes remaining.

The win could have been more convincing for Stuart Pearce's side with Caulker having two other good chances.

Bolton striker Marvin Sordell and Blackpool's Tom Ince also went close.

The side, who currently top the group 8 table with 18 points are back in action at Chesterfield on Monday, when they face second-placed Norway in their final group game.

Winning the group would give England an easier draw in next month's play-offs for the UEFA 2013 European Championship, which take place in Israel next summer.

how did he get on? final score?

Wasn't tested enough really, did make one good save low to his right hand side in the first half but other then that didn't look troubled, good distribution from his kicks and calm in possession.

Can anyone tell me please where our Under 18s will play Southampton on September 22nd, it's a home game? Cant see any info on OS.

Not sure. There's a lot of players in the development squad who play in his position so he may be let go. Dean Parrett has had a better loan career than him as well and his contract is expiring too. His age is still for him, he could play for the U-21s next season as well so the club may give him another year. He's only been on the bench for Swindon so far in the two games they've played so let's see how it goes.
