The Academy, NextGen, U18 & U21 Premier League and On-Loan Thread

At least it means we could keep someone like Adam Smith as first team cover while giving him somewhere to play.

I'm not sure we will, though. We can still send players out on loan and use the new league as tougher competition for the older Academy players, in turn allowing younger players tougher competition in the U18 competition.

Hopefully this year will act as an indicator. If this youth league turns out to be super competitive, then I'd imagine we'll hold more players back. The key is whether they are playing truely comptetive football, if it turns out to be as good a standard as lower league football, then why send them out to Div1/2? Interesting times afoot.
 
Fredericks came on as a sub as Brentford was sent out of the League cup.
Played right back, and looked lost according to guys on their forum.
Not his best position though ..
 
We're going to be organising another Ultras night for the Barca game. But don't fret, we're renaming to get away from the Ultras tag.

ahh good stuff, have you managed to find a thread where they're talking about the game? Am completely lost trying to navigate round their website....

Haven't seen Luongo play myself but everything I've heard about him has been positive, hope he continues to impress.
 
A satisfactory win and at times we again moved the ball around very well. Chopra looked sharp and once again Luongo and Hyam linked well.

The passing quality and off the ball movement of town improved and grew through the game. Luongo is class and Hyam and he link well, Hyam probably had a weaker game because he is often passing sideways and not able to get the ball forward quick enough....

....Why I enjoyed it so much in this spell was the sheer number of passing options and the tenacity of luongo meaning we were just so dominant and had real energy.

Thanks Wookie, I couldn't get on the forum pages, I really think we may have a player on our hands here. He is physically ahead of Carroll and I think he will have a big season in the Championship, then hopefully next season he can step up and contribute for us
 
Is Massimo's loan for the entire season or just a few months? I know its just 1 game, but I'm really hoping its the latter so we can loan him out to a struggling premiership team if he keeps this up.
