Television Coverage Of Spurs

So after ripping punters off over the years they are now worried because their viewing numbers have dropped. Screw them.

People only want to pay for the stuff they watch and not some bundled package. Shocker.

Also, BT now have the majority of the games and are cheaper as BT offer the sports free if an existing customer.

Another thing I never understood about Sky is they are willing to offer discounts to existing customers but screw those new customers who want a cheaper deal

New customers get better deals as a rule, only exist customers who threaten to leave get deals (normally in line with the ones new customers get}. Existing customers who do not threaten to leave they screw over

Just like they have been screwing over their customers for years.

If you threaten to leave then yes you do get deals but I've found as a new customer they won't bend over backwards to offer me a good deal to join. Maybe, I was unlucky

I'm currently paying £92 for sky. £92 fudging squid. That's just for full package sky multi screen for £12 and £6 Hd! I'm cancelling it tomorrow and may just go freeview or add BT tv onto my broadband package which will bring it down and I'll get BT sport free.

It's a joke.

I thought everyone knew how to play the game with sky and virgin.....you've got to cancel first, then in those 30 days cancellation period go onto your account and check if they sent you any offers, you'll get 40%,maybe 50% or even 60% off your bill, you can either take this offer up or even wait a few days after they switch you off,you won't lose any of your recordings then either phone them up or do what i did use the chat services, say you want to return to sky but ask what offers are about, then you say something..... say you want 70% off plus a credit note of £100 to your account ,they'll say they can't do that but they can do this....in the end you'll get a tidy deal,i''m paying £29 a month with everything plus i got the first month free on a 12 month contract ......then next year do it all again.

Sky are struggling at the moment with retentions due to kodi and kids watching things on line etc so they want your business ,you can get a great deal if you want to save some bucks.

I called them today to cancel and got 40% off. Theyre going to call me back tomorrow and then I'll decide. Still a lot of money. Got it down to £50 all in. It was £62 but I don't need multiroom which was £12.

Although I might just do what you said and cancel it and check what deals they offer and then come back etc.

I got ours down from £105 a month to £40 for tv, phone and broadband, no sports/movies though

I use a paid IPTV which is £100 a year-ish which gives me all the sports, etc

Sky/BT will have to start getting more competitive as more and more will leave them for good

As you were willing to walk away, hold out for a 50% reduction. # Negotiate like Levy

Its easier to use the chat service, gives you time to think things over rather than on the phone, because if you speak to them they'll say that's the best they can do blah blah.....also on some web sites like moneysavingexpert you get people saying what kind of offers are around at the moment and use that info on them.

If you prepared to cancel now or in a week or so that will take you up to August then, there should be good offers on sky sports then,i think you can get 60% off at least plus a credit note of one month if you wait till the end.

Anyone know when Sky are announcing their first batch of televised fixtures? I see the EFL have been set today.

I'm working on the likelihood that the Chelsea game will be on tv, but it's a question of whether they make it the 5.30 Saturday or a Super Sunday fixture. Trying to put off committing to a wedding until i know the date of the game, much to the disgust of the missus! Haha

Next week IIRC.

Yes. July 10th I believe

What are hotel prices like around Wembley...£80/£90 or more???

I'm glad we've got a date but since its official now i presume all hotel companies won't be caught on the hop now and shove their prices up as they'll have someone tapping in the prices as the tv fixtuers come out.

Blimey, don't stay in Wembley! Can't you stay somewhere nearby that's nice with a decent direct rail link?

Too right. There's a Premier Inn just as you come out of the station at Wembley Park. Usual advance rate is around £35 on a non-event day, but its over £100 when there is something on at the Stadium.

As Lemonade Money rightly suggested. Best looking for a hotel in somewhere like Hillingdon,Stanmore or Watford, etc. that has a direct line to Wembley via the Underground
