Television Coverage Of Spurs

What would you guys do in this situation...

I'm flying home for Xmas (first time in over 5 years) and want to go to Spurs v Saints on Boxing Day. Taking the misses too as she's never been.

Its a bronze game according to Club Wembley/Booby Moore Club, 199 quid a ticket I might add.

We leave London on 27 Dec so if they move it for TV I'm shafted 400 quid to the worse. Won't be until mid October that tv fixtures get released for December games.

Help!

Surely you'll get a ticket, even if in the gods? You could get a corporate ticket a week before most games, season before last. Personally I'd wait until the game is confirmed, then see what your options are.

mate, are you a member of Ozspurs? if you are a member and you are also a hotspur member you can apply for tickets through Ozspurs ballot system. It is a very fair and honest system and the tickets are all face value. I did this for the Chelsea game in January and there were 9 fans all over from Oz that got tickets for it. You'll save most of your Lilywhite/OneHotspur membership fee in the shop with their 10% discount anyway.

I know Tommysvr on here is part of Ozspurs so he might have further info but definitely check them out.

Thanks for that. I have been a silent member of the ozspurs, more so when I lived in Sydney.

Still quite a lot of uncertainty about Wembley seating. You don't want to be in the upper tier, view wise.

Agree you have to be near the front. Anywhere further than halfway up is a complete no-no, like watching ants.

I disagree. I was about 6 rows from the back for the League Cup final a couple of years ago, and whilst yes, it is a fair old distance, I didn't find the players seemed small. I know we're mostly used to WHL distances, but we were certainly not talking Nou Camp proportions. I think all the seats at Wembley offer a great view, just depends on whether you like to be close to the action or prefer a greater overview of the whole pitch and player movement.

Okay so it's just my eyesight then. Old man! :D

Sky Sports is to increase its number of broadcast channels to ten.

The new line-up, which will be introduced on July 18, includes dedicated channels for Premier League, football, cricket, golf and F1.

The new ten channel package will continue to be priced at £27.50 per month that will be frozen for the next 12 months.

Significantly, Sky is bringing in more flexibility in its channel packages, with a single channel pack available for £18 per month, two for £22 and three for £26.

The broadcaster is facing competition from BT Sport, Eurosport and entertainment channels including ITV4 and Dave that all have their eye on the armchair sports fan.

Stephen van Rooyen, Sky UK and Ireland Chief Executive added: “Sport has been a major part of Sky for 26 years and we’re improving our service even further, super-serving existing customers and providing flexibility to a whole new generation of sports fans. We are making sport more accessible and offering even more choice; all part of our continued investment in offering Sky customers an unrivalled service.”

The channels are also being brought together in a single Sky Sports app.

The new line-up of channels and Sky EPG channel numbers are:
401 Sky Sports Main Event
402 Sky Sports Premier League
403 Sky Sports Football
404 Sky Sports Cricket
405 Sky Sports Golf
406 Sky Sports F1
407 Sky Sports Action
408 Sky Sports Arena
409 Sky Sports News
121 Sky Sports Mix

Sky Sports Action and Sky Sports Arena will include rugby union, rugby league, boxing, netball, darts, NFL, tennis, WWE, GAA.

401 – Sky Sports Main Event
The destination for the biggest live events
Live Premier League football plus international qualifiers and the biggest games from EFL and La Liga, F1®, Ryder Cup and Major golf, England Test cricket, international Rugby Union, World Darts Championship and more

402 – Sky Sports Premier League
The home of the Premier League
126 live Premier League matches per season. Brand new shows including a new nightly debate show. Dedicated On Demand sections for every Premier League club, including match highlights, interviews and documentaries.

403 – Sky Sports Football
The home of over 900 live games per season
127 Sky Bet EFL matches per season, EFL Cup including semi-finals and final, SPFL Premiership & Scottish Cup, 300 La Liga matches a season, MLS, Eredivisie and more.

Looking at this there will be a lot of people just getting the Premier League channel. I though they might have some of the bigger games on Main Event only but they only have rights for 126 and are showing them all on the Premier League channel.

The League Cup becomes even more unwatched than ever, relegated on a channel a lot of people wont have.

there is little point/saving in getting rid of the dross.......I think I would save £1.50 pm......

That is how I worked it out - I wonder how many people would just want the football (spread out over three channels of course) by the time you take out the couple you don't want it works out the same!

It's the beginning of the need to bring prices down.
Personally I have Sky and BT sport and have used other spurious methods but I like reliability and picture quality.
Really don't want golf/Darts or F1 but the saving are not there yet

I am the same, I would rather just turn the TV on rather than spend 2 hours to find a moody feed.

I think this is the beginning of the end of the vast amounts pumped into the PL.

Sky need to realise they can't charge more than they did whilst reducing the options - no ashes, no cl and potentially losing the Spanish league.
