Subway serve meat?! I always wondered what those dry tasteless slabs were supposed to be
Probably 98% turkey the bacon they sell.

You are right.
But using that argument, all businesses are discriminatory
If subway were sensible they would offer both.
HALLELUJAH \o/
Yes I do, but if that restaurant was a regular haunt of mine and they changed over night to halal meat because they prefer that customer to me then they have discrimination on there hands... no!
What's wrong with halal meat? Surely as a meat eater you wouldn't mind as long as it tastes the same? I'm really confused!
There should be a compromise.. Say a pray on the meat that is killed the way the majority in this country eat it.
Whats wrong with the meat I eat now. Surely it tastes the same as Halal meat.
Its not just Halal meat, it's Kosher too, but Kosher isn't being forced onto me, forced into every day life through takeaway joints. There have been other threads where we have discussed halal at length. I just don't trust the methods, don't trust the background and don't trust that the meat is of the British standard lion. If I could I would butcher my own meat, at least I would know 100% but we rely on a standard that everyone should adhere too, I don't see it with what we are discussing here.

Fair enough mate, I understand your points. I would say that perhaps the media have successfully portrayed this action by Subway as something that is being 'forced' on the general public. You would be hard pressed to find meat that isn't kosher in an area like Golders Green, and restaurants there will refuse to serve any other option, but it doesn't seem to be an issue (doesn't sell as a story). In areas like Southall, all western dishes is some restaurants are spiced with an Asian flavour to cater for the large Asian population residing there, again, no issue. The way I see it, a small number of fast food joints in a big chain are catering for their demographic. That garbage newspaper is scaremongering to the masses that it is somehow threatening our way of life. Perhaps they should do an undercover expose on how Chinatown only caters for oriental tastes and is discriminating the rest of us!
In terms of the methods used, I'm probably the wrong audience to discuss that with, I'm an animal liberationist veggie therefore any method used is wrong in my eyes.
If its been on the menu since it opened and the reasons why they are taking that choice away are religious reasons then damn right they should still be serving bacon.. some kind of mad cows for pork, yeah take it down. Religion should not dictate how people outside of that religion live there lifes... whatever the religion.
BTW I was glad last week the the PM got pulled up on calling this a Christian nation. There are nutters and Atheists

No difference, it would be discrimination against Halal eaters.
If a hotel situated next to said Subway restaurant decides suddenly to not allow gays... for business reasons as the hotel is in a strong religous area that denounces such people. Is that not discrimination.
I will agree to me being right, you being wrong and for us to leave it at that.
If you wish to you can pretend that it says "also right" instead of wrong there, just like Auro pretends that there are moral reasons for not eating animals that transcends the taste of bacon...
How about that for a compromise?
Oi! Leave me aaaaht a' this! All that meat-eating is causing so much unnecessary aggression in here. This aggression will not stand maaaan...
Hey, you entered a bacon-thread with your hateful message of bacon free lives, kindness to animals and fewer cardiovascular disorders!
By the way I think there might be an inverse relationship between the length of time it takes someone to say the word "man" and how seriously I take that person
1.5 seconds + and everything they said might just as well have been "Hodor Hodor Hodor Hodor Hodor Hodor".
What if the guy I was quoting when I said man is Dude from The Big Lebowski
I see you are not taking my promises of Subway veggie reform seriously. Expect a visit from my friends at al Quinoa...
Ouch, I've trapped myself! I think I have to go for the statistical outlier defense here...
Hey, I'm an animal too! No hurtsies!
Quinoa, haven't had that in some time now. Think I tested it after it was talked about in a thread on here, might have been you. Thanks for the suggestion if so, it's nice!
