Feels like we really have cut the squad down

- Solomon, GLC, Reguilon & Skipp out next, not sure we will even have a 25 squad

If we got Forster, Whiteman and Scarlett out too, with a couple more youth loans (Dorrington, Lankshear), we might actually get close to the 25

We had the best academy team in the country last season. So maybe not a bad thing.

Look at utd with the class of 92. Not saying they're that good. But we'll never know if they're not given a chance.

Looks to me a reaction to last season and providing a route for youth by not stock piling which is what was put out in the original statements by the club when Munn came in, his job was to streamline and then look at all route to the club for all teams, this looks like it. There is absolutely no point having high paid players clogging up the system when the drop off to promoting youth is minimal and those youth have a better future with us.

Last year maybe a season too soon, this season seems the perfect storm for it, especially given they have made decisions to sell two on aswell

The Class of 92 success wasn't just due to the class though, they came into a winning machine and were sculpted into absolute winners by Fergie. They had to play at a very high level to even get in the side, maybe Ange can create the same with our guys but the context isn't quite the same.

They werent winning much. 1 FA cup and an ageing squad. Those 4 or 5 youth team players, along with signing Keane and Cantona, brought everything together

The seniors aren't winning. But the ones coming through won at u18 level and last season at u21 level. Even though a lot were 18/19. They have to be given a chance or why bother?

Did they come in to a winning machine?

And the year before
They won the league cups at their age level
It was the under 21s that flopped
Last year they would have won the FA youth cup too if they weren’t robbed in the city game with Heskeys son free kick

I’ve been to see the under 21s
They have no fear
That’s a key thing
They okay the game their way and don’t care what anyone else does
They also have a bind that’s been missing for some time. We saw it was Kane and Mason behind the scenes in Pochs season
The difference now is it’s a larger group and they are younger and arguably better prepared

Did they come in to a winning machine?
Yes. United had won the PL in 93, 94, 2nd in 95 by 1 point and had won a major title every year since 1989. Fergie had them as a well drilled winning machine and he slotted the Class of 92 into that. He let players go who he knew he had potential replacements for like, Hughes, Ince Khanchelikis and Sharpe.
