Putin & Russia

This is good and needed, and hopefully backed up woith meaningful actions. Anyone know why the Weimar name (considering the historic connotations)?

edit: I saw this in a reply to the above
"The Weimar Triangle was formed (in the city of Weimar) in 1991 - a diplomatic alliance between France, Germany and Poland. It was designed to support Poland coming in to NATO. It then expanded to included other countries (hence Weimar+)"

That's a lot of words. Couldn't they just say "Putin, back the f*ck off, put the borders back where they were or we'll ...um... bomb Red Square an' ting"

They always fall back on the nuclear sabre rattling. It is a continuation of sorts of the KGB cold war strategy. Dave Troy wrote a good piece on it a bit back. I'll see if I can find it.

I agree that it is a tactic they use. And I do not think they would be insane enough to launch nuclear weapons towards anyone anywhere

But attacking Chernobyl?

Once you activley attack it I would imagine the reaction is completely out of your control? Is there any safe way to attack the site?

All it could take is one hit to release everything out into the atmosphere.

At that point it may not be a Nuke targeted towards NATO nations but surely the enviromental effects would cosnitute an indirect attack of sorts?

I'd be more concerned if either side hit, on a large scale, the Zaporizhzhia (think it is) facility tbh - that is live and likely has a lot more horrible brick to spew into the world.

Chernobyl has more than just the roof shield protecting what was there.

Yep I pretty sure it won't come to that.

Putin is a bully and coward with his own mortality foremost in his mind. He will not nuke anything as he knows he'll be toast too. Russian money in western banks is another safeguard of sorts.

And as much as Trump is obsessed with nukes (nuke the hurricane!!) he is a coward too at the end of the day. I remember when he ran off to the bunker during the BLM protests. In fact, I think he's been talking recently about reducing the number of nukes. That may be one of two things I agree with him about.

However, causing a nuclear incident is a little in the grey area, and the Russians have already shown scant regard for the danger caused by targeting Zaporizhzhia.

That can't be true. Such a blatant tinkle take.
Well, I don't know if it is true but Rogin is not a total B-lister. I think he is a CNN guy with some bona fides.

There was a deal in the offing about rare earth materials but I wouldn't put it past these thugs to decide that wasn't enough and then pivot to wanting half of a lot more. Greedy soulless clams, the lot of them.

I am not sure anyone can say anything with any degree of confidence. He is dangerously close to total senility and he has handed the keys to people who lack specific human checks and balance emotions. These are unprecedented times.

Putin has invited Trump to Moscow for the small dingdong energy parade thing they do. A new axis of evil is forming.

The EU/Europe need to wake the fudge up to what is happening and do something.

His number two is already in Europe, making enemies.

This is true. We are moving into extraordinarily dangerous times.
